It is now July 257th and there are still no signs of an album from our dear Frank Ocean. As most know last year Frank Ocean released a picture via twitter of him with two different versions of his new album Boys Don’t Cry, with a hashtag saying July 2015. Yet here we are almost 9 months later and nothing from Frank. His last album Channel Orange was released 3 years ago on July 10th, 2012. Clearly some new music is long overdue for his day one fans. Frustration grows with every albumless day that goes by. To make matters worse, on Kanye Wests new album The Life of Pablo we finally hear some of Frank Oceans amazing vocals, but that is all. He came out of hiding, sang a little on Kanye's album and then vanished. Leaving us all even more hopeful for the album than before. So here are some things I felt like have a higher chance of happening before Frank Ocean decides to release Boys Don’t Cry.
1. Kanye dropping his album anywhere but Tidal

Kanye dropped his new album The Life of Pablo not too long ago. And for the millions of excited fans who couldn't wait to hear it there was just one problem, you had to be subscribed to the application Tidal to listen to it. Tidal was recently purchased by rapper and producer Jay-Z who felt people would pay to have higher quality music. The subscriptions range from $9.99 to $25.99 dollars a month. With Kanye's album being released on Tidal it makes it much more difficult to download and listen to unless you want to subscribe for a free trial, which only allows you to enjoy the album for a month. Kanye himself tweeted that "The Life of Pablo" would only be available on Tidal requiring a paid subscription. While it's inconvenient the album is only on Tidal, Kanye kept his promise of dropping an album, dropped it on time and at least made it available at somewhere which is more than we can say for Frank.
2. Drake and Meek Mill releasing a track together
Last year towards the end of July, Meek Mill, angry because his "friend" Drake had not promoted his new album decided to go out on twitter and call people out for comparing him to Drake, as Drake does not write his own lyrics. Apparently Meek and his team had found out Drake had a ghostwriter, which is someone who writes the lyrics for an artist and sells it to them. This tweet alone began a series of funny memes, Diss tracks, and retaliations between Drake and Meek Mill for our personal entertainment. Meek Mill created problems with not only Drake and his fans but also other artists such as 50 cent. From this point on, his career took a downward spiral taking L's (losses) left and right. Many fans were disappointed with this feud because of an earlier track featuring both Drake and Meek Mill, R.I.C.O which was a fan favorite. Meek has now ruined any possible chance of being able to collaborate with Drake on another track. Congratulations Meek, you played yourself. As for Frank, we're all getting played by him...got us sitting around waiting with high hopes that one day he might actually drop this album.
3.Metro Boomin' trusting someone
4. Raven Symone realizing Africa is one continent
In a recent interview with E! News former Disney Channel star Raven Symone was asked about her ancestry. Prior to this interview she had made the mistake of publicly stating she doesn't want to be classified as an African American but just an American. This caused a lot of hate and disappointment from former "Thats So Raven" fans. She tried to fix the situation following up with this interview where she went to ancestry.com and found out all of her roots. I'd like to think that growing up not only an African American, but also a regular person who passed 5th grade geography she'd know the difference between "continent" and "country," but this interview leads us all to believe otherwise. In this interview Raven proudly explains that her ancestry traces back to "EVERY CONTINENT in Africa." Every CONTINENT....in Africa. Sadly, Raven knows just as much about geography as we know about the whereabouts of Frank and his album.
5. Zayn Malik rejoining One Direction
March 25th, 2015 was the most heartbreaking day for One Direction fan girls all over the world. This was the day Zayn Malik released online he was no longer happy being part of One Direction and he just wanted to focus on being a 22 year old. He also did not state he was done with his own career seeing as to he has released music on his own already. The group did not end on bad terms and the rest of the group said he was welcomed back at any moment. But from the success Zayn has had on his own so far the chances of his return are highly unlikely. I guess you could say the same about Frank Oceans return.
As we sit here patiently listening to Franks 3 year old songs, which of course are still as beautiful as they were at the release of them we can do nothing but wait and hope that Frank will realize his fans will not give up on this album. As well as sit back and watch how many unlikely things will happen before Frank comes back into our lives. We love you and all Frank but seriously though BRUH DROP THE F*CKING ALBUM.
