May 27th, 2016. The day that was SUPPOSED to be the most exciting day of my life thus far, my biggest milestone, biggest accomplishment. All of the seniors were lined up in alphabetical order, slowly waiting their turn to march in to the gymnasium to take their seats for the ceremony. Moms beamed down crying as their babies were about to say goodbye to their high school years, dads snapped hundreds of pictures that would end up being blurry but who really cares, A+ for effort, grandparents waving as hard as they can trying to catch their granddbabies attention to let them know how proud they are. I'm not saying I didn't have anyone there to cheer me on, because trust me I did. Family, family of friends, and friends that had graduated themselves all came to watch me receive my diploma, they all know who they are and I couldn't be more thankful for them... but the one thing I needed the most couldn't be there... my dad. My dad passed away twelve years ago due to a massive heart attack so I've known for a while that he would be attending my graduation in a different way than the rest of my family. My last name starts with a W so as you can guess I was at the end of the line, which meant that I had plenty of time to go through my 356 emotions that any senior goes through before receiving their diploma, my excitement slowly went to dread as I got to the doors of the gym and looked around and couldn't find the face I craved the most. My name was called, I received my diploma, I became an official graduate of Princeton Senior High School and the only thing I could of wanted more was my daddy up in the crowd fumbling to get some candid shots of his little girl.
