Mini Fridge Hacks: Make The Best Of Your Dorm Fridge
Greek Yogurt with Berries and Granola

You’re a college student who needs to balance a healthy lifestyle while enjoying the greater foods and moments in life. So, if you have a mini fridge in your dorm, these are some great healthy, daily snacks to enjoy, along with some necessary splurges too!

Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and granola

Greek yogurt is quite the fad right now, so there are many brands and flavors to choose from in the grocery store. However, my personal favorite and recommendation would have to be Chobani’s vanilla flavor. It goes well with any form of granola, along with fresh fruit, like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries. Maybe even try some bananas or grapes on the side.

These fruits are even better frozen and will last longer (if you have a mini freezer, of course). Chobani carries flavors like Fruit on the Bottom, Blended, Simply 100, Flip, Oats, and of course, Indulgent. If you don’t want to spend money on fresh fruit, then Fruit on the Bottom has you covered. Also, note that the Flip yogurt has seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Harvest Crisp, along with classics like Clover Honey, among many others, and it comes with the toppings, so you don’t have to purchase extra granola! Be sure to check out Chobani’s huge selection and enjoy a fresh breakfast or snack on-the-go.

A Cheese Tray or Lunchables

Cheese is always a crowd-pleaser. Whether you go for a classic cheese plate for a night in with the girls, or serve Lunchables for a more casual get-together before going out, cheese has your back. Go to the Piggly-Wiggly and grab a cheese plate with some crackers and meat, or grab the classic ham, cheddar, and Ritz Lunchable meal. Either way, your friends will be excited, and your mini fridge will be set for both occasions. While your mind is thinking of cheese, throw some string cheese and assorted cheese cubes in your buggy while you're at it. This way, you'll have a study snack for later, too!

Ice Cream and Cookie Dough

If you're lucky enough to have a mini freezer, stock up on a small bucket of Toll House cookie dough ice cream along with your favorite pints of Ben and Jerry's. Being from Texas, I have to say that Blue Bell makes the best ice cream, but Ben and Jerry's has gobs of cookie dough, streams of fudge, and chocolate chunks that are pretty hard to resist. Whether you bake the cookie dough or not, it's nice to have to munch on or to bake with friends. The Ben and Jerry's ice creams can also be enjoyed in moderation or during a Netflix binge. Whatever you decide, you need dessert in your life, and your mini fridge always has your sweet tooth's back!

Be sure to use your fridge for savory and sweet bites to eat during your busy college schedule. Also, don't forget to share your ideas, or actual treats, with your fellow dorm friends, too!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
