OK, here's the deal. Super Tuesday is March 1st, and the unfortunate truth is not many millennials know what that means, even worse is that many don't care at all. Well, fellow Millennials, if per chance you're reading this, have no fear because we're going to show you just why you should care about the 2nd biggest election day of the year!
1. It'll give you something to do Tuesday
Face it, were always trying to find something to do. Well why not kill a few hours by standing in line and helping pick a presidential candidate. You'd be surprised how quickly time flies when your helping
2. It doesn't cost you anything to go out and vote
You know what that means: more money for you to do with what you please. Close your eyes and imagine all the wonderful ways you could use that extra cash. Buy some Taco Bell, "make it rain," whatever.
3. If you do not care now, you will have no right to complain about the consequences in the future
If you don't cast your vote now, what gives to the right to complain about what our next president does with his/hers citizens' tax dollars. Catch my drift?
4. The long term effects of this election will impact our generation far more than it will our parents
Think about it, our nation is very different today compared to what it was like when our parents were growing up. This election season is unlike anything they have encountered in their lifetime, and the effects will be long lasting. In fact, the effects will most likely outlive our parents. Therefore, it will be our generation's responsibility to choose the right candidates and clean up any messes made by our future presidents.
5. You can go with your whole squad
Hey, so long as they're over 18 you and your whole crew can roll right on up to the polls together. Those primaries won't know what hit them when your gang rocks the polls.
6. Why not Snapchat it?
Join the elite ranks of titans such as DJ Khaled in Snapchat history, and use your voting experience to make a Snapchat story for the ages! What are you waiting for?
7. Your friends and family will be proud of you for expressing some political concern
When those around you see that you've been involved in the world of politics, odds are they will applaud you. Your family will see you as a mature adult, and look highly upon your interest in the future of our nation's government. Heck, you should be proud of yourself. You did a thing.
8. You'll feel hardcore American
Whats better than feeling American? Nothing, depending on who you ask. Either way, a little bit of patriotism is nice now and then so be a real American hero and vote like communism is taking over tomorrow!9. You get to make this struggle for democracy all worth while
Democracy is pretty fantastic, and all throughout our history we have struggled to maintain it. All of our veterans would sure be a tad upset if they knew we just ignored our option to vote.
10. These poor politicians have tried so hard to get your vote
The candidates have tried so freaking hard to pander to Millennials, it's actually pretty embarrassing. If you don't believe me just look at this embarrassing snapchat from the so called "Chillary Clinton." It's been a long road to this election and there have been some ridiculously embarrassing attempts to get our votes, and you know why that is? It's because they need us, our votes will seriously matter in these upcoming elections. Seriously, if someone ever told you your vote doesn't matter they were wrong. Your vote does matter for these primaries and it will certainly matter come November. So all joking aside, please go out and vote. Check when your primaries are and find your nearest voting center, it's one of the most important things you can do this year!
