I am 19 years old, I am a millennial. I go to a liberal leaning school in the heart of a beautiful but liberal city, Boston. I possess all the stereotypes that could make me a liberal, radical feminist, like a majority of my peers. Thank god I am not alone in my beliefs. Throughout my journey in politics the last 2 years I have met and been associated with fabulous conservatives (i.e. future female leaders and the millennial conservatives who follow the Chicks on The Right) who keep me sane and encourage me to never sacrifice my identity in the face of sometimes overwhelming scrutiny. I have met wonderful, decent, gentleman who are conservatives that give me hope for my generation and hope that I won't have to settle for a liberal husband. And I have great role models such as Ivanka Trump, Condaleeza Rice, Nikki Haley, Karen Hughes, Carly Fiorina, and Dana Perino and of course my true role model the Bushes and the Reagans. But "millennial" conservatives are not your typical millennials.
I would not actually consider myself a true millennial. Don't get me wrong I love Netflix, shopping, and all of the indulgences that the 21st century has to offer. But where I separate myself from a majority of my generation and is my political beliefs and morals. And the fact that I hate man buns and cargo joggers. I still believe in going to church every Sunday, having dinner around the table as a family WITHOUT cell phones being present at the table, dressing modestly, having fun without drinking and smoking, and being honest, loyal, and kinder than necessary. As for my political beliefs I am not a liberal voting for Hillary Cliinton in November because my morals and my basic knowledge of economics tells me that nothing in life is or should be free, like college tuition or healthcare. I believe in American exceptionalism, free market capitalism, and the right to bear arms. I find forced diversity really contradicting and as a female conservative I am sick of Hillary Clinton using the woman card.
I do not need a rich lying bureaucrat telling me that I need the government to run my life or live my life. If Hillary Clinton, as the Secretary of State, can not correctly use her email she should not be telling me how to live my life because if I lived my life like she lives hers, I would be in prison. My version of feminism is the version where men and women are equal and your gender is not the quality you use to get yourself the White House. Using your gender to get rewards from the government or get you a government position is the opposite of true feminism. Your gender should not define you, the content of your character should. Going solely off the fact that Hillary Clinton should be president because she is a woman, is contradicting true equality. I know I am not oppressed as Hillary Clinton and the modern feminists like to claim because when I look at the way women are treated around the world, not being able to school or drive, my 2004 Volkswagen golf and private education look pretty good to me. I could spend my time complaining about the wage gap and non-paid maternity leave but then again there is the whole concept of economics and the fact that I don't have the time for such things because issues like ISIS seem a bit more important to me. And anyone that has been married for forty years to a man who has abused, raped, and mistreated numerous woman has no business pulling the woman card on the American people. If Hillary Clinton really stood for women's rights she would have not laughed about a 12 year old getting raped and she wouldn't have attacked her husband's victims. Donald Trump may say some dumb things about Rosie O'Donnell and Megyn Kelly but he never in his life has done to women what Hillary and Bill Clinton have done.
I am a millenial in the fact that I was born in the millenial time period but my beliefs that I hold close to my heart and my morals reflect those of a different time period. I am not offended by the slightest comment, I do not need a safe space, I find whiny college kids annoying, and I do not plan on living in parents basement for the rest of my life. I have goals and dreams of living the American dream and working hard to provide for my family and myself without the help of Hillary Clinton's government programs. So while all the millenial liberals go out on election day to vote for Hillary Clinton or protest that Bernie got gipped, I will be casting for Donald J. Trump because he is our only option if we want a country to be stable and not in shambles.
Let me start my justification of why I am voting for DOnald Trump with this; Donald Trump was not my first pick for president. I was a Marco Rubio girl, and then a Ted Cruz girl. I like Trump the least out of any of the candidates except John Kasich but then again who didn't? Who could stand watching a game of fruit ninja on re run for four years any time Kasich had to speak to the American people. But the point is I would have liked almost any one of the candidates better than Trump. He lacks the political experience some of the candidates possessed but I will say he does not lack the knowledge. He sometimes acts like a child, he struggles with message discipline at times, and he is an outsider. But I think those shortfalls are sometimes his biggest strengths. I think he appeals to all the people who are sicking of the Washington beltway politicians and the left leaning media being so in the game for the money and for power. It is nice to have DOnald Trump on the people's side, not on the side of lining his own pockets. Even The Donald will tell you he's really rich. The conservatives are sick of out of touch democrats and weak Republicans like Mitch McConnell.
So while Trump really made my blood boil when he said George W. Bush did not keep us safe because 9/11 happened on our watch and that he lied about the Iraq War, I will vote for Donald Trump because he is our only option. I will vote for him despite his shortfalls because no candidate will ever be perfect. And I am not voting for a third party candidate because libertarians will be taking votes away from Trump and handing the election to the liar in chief, Hillary Clinton. This race is not about being the most politically experienced or about being perfect, it is about making sure Hillary Clinton does not step in the White House once again. Enough went wrong the first time. This country can not take another 4 years of Obama's policies because lets be honest, Hillary Clinton is a Barack Obama in an pumpkin colored pantsuit. My job as a female conservative is not to vote for Hillary Clinton because she would be the first woman president, it is to do what is morally right for this country.
I could get into how I think her policies are insane and how she literally has accomplished nothing in her years of public service but there is not enough time in the day or room in this article for such explanations. But there is one thing that I can not look past, Hillary Clinton's inability to tell the truth. She has lied about so many things I actually lost track. Some of her big lies include the Benghazi video lie, the countless lies about her emails in which she was almost indicted if not for the rigged justice system being all for the Clintons getting away with murder, literally, lies about the Clinton Foundation, Whitewater, Filegate, Chinagate, and Travelgate. Hillary Clinton can go on and on about her experience in public service all she wants but she can not hide all the political scandals that cloud her "legacy" if she even has one. She may get off with the FBI, but we as Americans most hold her as accountable as an average America. What she did with those emails would have any military member or average worker in jail. She can not have the power of controlling our national security and our nuclear weapons if she can't safely email classified information. And then there is the fact that no presidential candidate has ever been the subject of a criminal investigation. As Americans we are responsible for having the same standards of honesty and integrity in our leaders as we do with each other.
So while Trump was not mine or many people's first pick and I know he is not perfect and he will not be a perfect president, I as someone who values law and order, tradition, honesty, and integrity in my elected leaders will vote for Donald Trump. Whether he is inexperienced or not, Trump will exude some decency and honesty in the White House, the same can not be said for Hillary Clinton. Whether Trump wins or not, and I hope to God he does, I can rest my head on my pillow on election night and know that I a voted for the candidate who most represented my morals and that I did not sacrifice my beliefs for popularity because face it, Trump supporters are bullied, assaulted, and constantly called racist bigots. It does not matter what my fellow millennials think, I will not vote for a woman who is willing sacrifice the lives of Americans for convenience. So here is to hoping that our 45th president is Donald Trump and that Hillary Clinton will finally disappear from politics.
