Miley Cyrus' Top 5 Performances
Wall Paper's Boom

Miley Cyrus often gets a bad rep for being a Disney star gone wrong. She is unconventional to say the least and has been throughout the tabloids for the past couple of years. All of the gossip aside, she is an amazing performer and it seems sometimes her infamy overshadows that fact. Her voice is unique and she has an incredible ability to adapt to different genres. These are 5 performances that I think exhibit her amazing talent.

1. Miley Cyrus - Baby, I'm In The Mood For You (Live from the Tonight Show)

Miley sings this song as though it's her own. Her cover does Odetta's song justice. I also love her outfit, she chose more coverage but the pattern on the dress is wonderfully strange.

2. Happy Hippie Presents: Backyard Sessions - Look What They've Done to My Song Ma performed by Miley Cyrus & Melanie Safka

This one is my personal favorite of her Happy Hippie series. She sings along with Melanie Safka to Safka's original song. Miley has covered this song before but I think this cover is the best version. Major props to her band as well.

3. Dolly Parton's "Jolene" from the Backyard Sessions

With some of her more auto tuned songs becoming hits these days, its easy to forget that Miley Cyrus is a country singer at heart. I think this cover of "Jolene" does a great job at showing off her amazing talent at singing classic country music.

4. Wrecking Ball at the 2013 AMA Awards

First of all I love the cat theme. Second of all I feel like this song became a joke because of the ridicule of her music video, but taking the song away from the context shows how good the song actually is. For performing live, she does an amazing job at this difficult song.

5. "Adore You" from MTV Unplugged

This is my favorite song from Bangerz, and hearing it arranged in a different way was awesome. It sounds like a different song and yet I am not sure which version I prefer. She is very capable of writing emotionally charged music and I think sometimes her ability to adapt gets overlooked.

I love you Miley, keep being you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
