Midterms can be overwhelming, so here is a list of things to motivate you through this stressful time:

1. You are so close to being able to see your DOG!

The day fall break starts snapchat and Instagram stories are filled with dog (and other pet) photos, and it is incredible! When you feel like you can't get threw your last few classes just remember how close you are to seeing your beloved pet!

2. You are halfway done with that class you hate.

Everyone has that one course that they dread going to. Whether it's boring, dry, overwhelming, impossible, or however else you would describe it as just remember: you are one midterm away from have a break from it!

3. A home cooked meal is calling your name.

It's not a secret that college food is not known for being good. After midterms week you will finally be able to go home and have a home cooked meal and won't make you feel sick (hopefully)!

4. You are one test away from being able to sleep in your own bed

If accessorized appropriately (mattress tops are a live saver) a college bed isn't the most uncomfortable thing, but nothing beats being able to sleep in your own bed. You are almost there, you got this!

5. You finally will have time to binge watch that T.V. series or movies you've been dying to see

Free time isn't a thing in college. If you have the opportunity to watch T.V. or just be lazy every then congratulations but for the majority of us we have a never ending list of movie and show recommendations we want to watch but never have time for.. until now! Fall break is the perfect break to get cozy and caught up on movies and shows!

6. Do it for the GPA

We are all in college to get an education and ultimately a job, don't put too much pressure on yourself but make sure to remind yourself that your academics are important. Although it's terrible right now, in a couple weeks or next semester you probably will look back on whatever class you are struggling through and be proud of what you accomplished.

7. You will be able to catch up on sleep you've probably been behind on since school started

From cramming for tests, finishing up last second homework, and just catching up with friends you haven't seen in forever: you probably haven't been sleeping as much as you should. Don't worry, after midterms you can finally catch up on that sleep!

8. After midterms you will be able to see your family and your friends from home

We all get a little homesick sometimes. Fall break gives everyone the opportunity to spend time with their family and friends from home and recoup for the second half of the semester. Enjoy and cherish the time you have with loved ones!

9. You will be able to go to the local restaurants you love

Whether you are from New York or New Jersey and are dying to get some "good" pizza or bagels, or you just really want to go back to that one restaurant or cafe you grew up loving, after midterms you can finally do that!

10. You can switch out your summer clothes for fall!

Everyone loves fall! Fall break is the confirmation that our favorite time of the year is finally here! Time for sweaters, flannels, boots, and more fall wardrobe necessities!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
