Oversleeping for the third time this week. Skipping class on a regular basis. Missing the bus again. Counting down the days until fall break. Looks like you have mid-semester shambles.
It's contagious, and you can catch it quickly. Don't be afraid everyone gets it. You let it run its course, however some people never get rid of it. It's a shame, but it's hard to stay motivated once the semester is in full swing. Working hard in your classes all day, then spending two hours at Pigskin practice, or going go to the float site adds on another hour or two, and putting in ten hours a week at your job while still trying a time to eat and sleep isn't easy. It's nearly impossible.
Summer now seems like a distant memory as October is now here! No more days in the sun, and long crazy unforgettable nights. School. School. School. Is the only thing on our minds. Classes are fine, you meet some new friends, but you're just exhausted. Living your days in a classroom, and your nights stuck in a cubical in the library. You're trying to remember what your professor lectured about in class that day, but you can't because you were too busy day dreaming about something else. Keep in mind we are still a month away from Thanksgiving, so we can't slack off just yet.
I think I could be experiencing premature senioritis, so I'm sure for the seniors their senioritis is in full swing. I know it's only the first semester, but I'm ready for an extended vacation from classes, professors, and exams. The excitement of homecoming isn't enough motivation for me to want to keep going. If anything I'm ready for homecoming to pass. All the preparation and anticipation it wearing me down. However I am ready to be reunited with Baylor grads. This semester hasn't been the same without them!
Going into this next round of exams I know I have to shake off my mid-semester shambles so I can refocus. No, it won't be easy but I know I can do it. And so can you! Break down each day, and complete your tasks a little bit at a time. I know professors can throw everything at you at once, but you can't let it overcome you. This is also the time in the semester where they are starting to run low on energy too, so give them some grace too. Also go in with the confidence that you are going to ace it!
Don't let mid-semester shambles get you down. In time it will all pass and we will all be home free. Before you know it, it will be Thanksgiving break, and then winter break! A month of lazying around the house watching reruns of abc family christmas movies on TV, while drinking hot chocolate wrapped in your favorite flannel pajamas.
