If you haven’t already witnessed Michelle Obama stand on the DNC podium of 2016, drop what you’re doing and watch it.
Never having even begun to imagine the struggles it takes to raise a daughter (much less daughters) in the white house in a boiling time of the 21st century, I could only envision a burning hell hole. However, despite the flaming criticism of the media and the blatant influence of dad’s (Mr. President) cabinet, FLOTUS Michelle Obama is a success—and we can all see it.
Not only managing to defensively stand by her husband’s side, and inspire American’s one fitness ad at a time, she also managed to get her eldest to Harvard and stay in rock-solid shape.
I can go on and on about how this woman is a role model to countless of citizens, but I want to personally thank the first lady on encouraging everyone in America to take the high road.
“Our motto is, when they go low, we go high.”
Our. Because in the midst of negative discourse, threat of national disunity, economic calamity, war, and oppression, there is not a living soul that does not need to be reminded that any issue is solvable with the mindset of working together.
She continues to remind us that in addition to being a body that needs to work cohesively in order to properly function, we also should be choosing a leader that remembers who is in charge of our future: us, our children, our children’s children. As long as the law remains, there will exist a leadership that needs to proceed in writing the story of America, a.k.a.: keeping us together. We will continue to debate on who is more fit to lead our country, and we will continue to have opinions; and where all of our opinions matter, I would like to encourage you to hear out Mrs. Obama.
“I want a president who will teach our children that everyone in this country matters—a President who truly believes the vision that our founders put forth all those years ago: That we are all created equal, each a beloved part of the great American story.”
