Winter in Miami

If you're looking for cold weather, snow, and fire pits during the winter, Miami is not the place for you.

Winter in Miami

Although the temperature may drop to high 50's, low 60's, you won't be needing more than a semi-thick sweater and a pair of jeans to keep you warm.

However, for Miamians, once the temperature hits the low 70's, the thick coats and fuzzy Uggs come out. Winter in Miami is like no other place. It is filled with trips to the beach, rooftop bars, or just a chill night with some friends enjoying the 60-degree weather.

While you may not see snow, this is the perfect time to pay Miami a visit. Every other time of the year, Miami feels like a boiling pot. With temperatures reaching up 102 degrees, and the crazy amount of humidity in the air, there is nothing you want to do more than stand in a room with air conditioning doing absolutely nothing.

One advantage of visiting Miami around this time is all of the different tourist attractions! Here are a few things to look out for if you find yourself in SoFlo this winter.

Miami Art Basel

The first week of December, artists from all over the world travel to Miami to showcase their work. This week is filled with amazing exhibits, crazy parties, delicious food, and for those who are 21 and up, the clubs/bars stay open much later. One of the things that I enjoy most about Art Basel is getting the opportunity to meet and network with so many creative individuals.

Santa's Enchanted Forest

If you're traveling with little kids pay Santa's Enchanted Forest a little visit. This carnival is filled with your favorite carnival rides and amazing, delicious food. With more than 100 rides and attraction Santa's Enchanted Forest has something for everyone in the family. Filled with Christmas lights and Christmas songs, this enchanted forest has the ability to transform everyone into a little kid.

This time of year is the best time to go out and enjoy the outdoors. Like previously mentioned, every other season in Miami is terrible because of the heat and humidity. Stepping outside of your home and feeling that cool breeze hit your face will automatically transform you and put you in a better mood. It makes you want to spend the whole day outside, even if you're not doing much. So on those cooler days, go ahead and call your besties, head on over to City Place Doral, grab a cup of hot coffee, and spend the rest of your day sitting outside enjoying the good company and amazing weather.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
