I met a girl once. She saw the world a little differently than most. She asked a lot of questions, and her bright eyes lit up when she heard the answers. When she spoke, you could hear the passion behind every word, as if she herself had created them. It wasn't often she sat in silence. She was always learning, always willing to grow, always willing to share her knowledge with others. Her soul was colorful to say the least. She had hopes and dreams just like everyone else, yet her aspirations were full of happiness and fulfillment; not wealth and power.
I met a girl. She was lost at times. She hid from the world every now and then just to catch her head. She wasn't always the strongest but she was never weak. She knew there would be bad days, but she never let them define her. There was confidence behind this girl. She walked with authority and rarely ever stumbled. But when she did stumble, she recovered quickly. While she was humble, she let herself feel her glory when it graced her.
I met a girl. She had a big heart. She quickly learned that not everyone had the same heart as her. This never stopped her from sharing all the love she had to give with those who needed it most. She never once failed to see the good in everyone. Even in her darkest days, she found the smallest ray of sunshine that would get her through to the next.
I met a girl. She was forgiving. She had been hurt before, but she was thankful for the lessons all that pain had given her. Even when it put her in a bad situation, she tried her best to be as understanding as possible. She believed that everyone was fighting a battle, and who was she to pick whose battle was worse?
I met a girl. She was smart. Sometimes she was too smart for her own good. She was arrogant at times, but it was all in fun and games. She expected the best from everyone but was often disappointed. This didn't stop her from getting her hopes up time and time again. She saw through the masks. She knew more about people who didn't know enough about themselves. She expected these people to show their true colors despite their efforts to hide them. She quickly learned, however, that some people's true colors are best left unseen.
I met a girl. She believed in love. She believed in it so much that she despised it. Love had shown her the best and worst parts of herself, but her faith never faltered. She believed that there was someone meant for her. She believed that maybe she had to go through a couple thousand tears before she found someone that would wipe them away. She believed the heartache would all be worth it someday. She learned the most about herself by believing in love.
I met a girl once.
