I know it's difficult, but reach over and put the car in drive. You have been given all the resources you need for a full life from the Bible and through the Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 1:18-21 (MSG)
"Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God."
You are meant for abundant life (John 10:10).
This is for you when you feel like you are living without a purpose. This is for you when you forget how far you have come and lose site of where you are going. This is for you when you feel like you aren't making a difference or are somehow in the "wrong spot." You will reach your destination.
God is Sovereign.
This is a journey.
You are not outside of God's supervision.
His will is for you to:
"And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15
"He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8
"See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18
And they are all doable things right where you are at. Don't move until he prompts you to. He is the gas that gets you moving by His Spirit and His word. He is able to get you efficiently from point A to point B. He is the map. We like to trail blaze and we get off track, but He is ready to receive and re-direct us.
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
You may take the longer way to get to the same place, but the time was not a waste. Your friendship was not a waste. Your bravery in the difficult moments were not a waste. And your faith is definitely not a waste.
Because He made and created you He will give you the sense to follow His will (Psalm 119:73).
So journey confidently into the day believing that His mercies are new every morning (Psalm 143:8) and that they are plentifulenough to drive and guide you into eternity, one mile at a time.
