A Letter To My Roommate
Molly Riseman

Dear Roommate,

I want to first start off by saying thank you. You have made such an impact on my life and I am truly appreciative for it.

It’s not easy getting a new, crazy, loud roommate at the beginning of your spring semester. So, thank you for being there when I almost get hit by a car while I walk in the middle of traffic. Thank you for always giving me endless things to laugh about.

My life would be pretty dull if you weren’t there to cheer me up at one in the morning with you jumping from your bed to mine. I cannot put into words how much I needed a friend like you when I transferred in last semester, my life was pretty blue and you turned it to a bright yellow.

Thank you for being just as crazy as I am, not everybody can get a noise complaint because they were singing “My Heart Will Go On” too loud. Some people might say we’re a little too close, but I don’t think there’s such a thing. Thank you for always being protective of me and having my best interest in mind. I’m so happy that I can say I’ve made this many (and more) memories with someone I’ve only known for a year.

I don’t know what Res Life was thinking when they put us together but I’m glad they made the right decision. Thank you for hanging all my decorations because you know it stresses me out, for helping me shower when I broke my finger, and for just being an amazing person that I needed the most at the right time.

Chances are I wouldn’t have survived my first semester here without you and your sarcastic voice. So thank you for everything you do for me, and being the best you can possibly be, you rock my socks, Albert, I love you buttercup.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
