In the generation that we live in, men seem to have the misconception that if they buy just the right "stuff" for women, they will win them over. This is wrong! Well, some women are this way, but not all of them! Women who are non-materialistic care more about the time that you are willing to spend with us than any amount of money that you would spend on us. The majority of non-materialistic women are free spirits and they are 100% content with super simple things in life like picnics and dancing.
Here are four key things that truly matter to us non-materialistic women that we want the men around us to know.
1. Loyalty is everything.
When it comes to a woman who has been hurt in the past by an unfaithful man, it is crucial to talk about (and act upon) your loyalty. Men, if you refrain from doing things that make women question you, then we will remain calm! Forgetting to buy a birthday present is better off emotionally for us than you having to buy a "Sorry I cheated, please forgive me" rose.
Faithfulness is more important than flowers.
2. Respect and love go hand-in-hand.
We want someone who will dance with our free spirit, not someone who buys the expensive dancing shoes, only to then step on them and keep us from going forward. In other words, non-materialistic women want to simply be who they are. Respect the time that she spends with friends, her time when she wants to be alone, and respect what she has to say. Please, whatever you choose to do, do not hold a woman back from doing what makes her, her!
Respect is better than fancy clothes.
3. Your job is cool, but who are you?
You could be the CEO of a major Accounting firm and your dream girl (if she is non-materialistic) could turn you down for the intern. The difference is who you are as a person.
A materialistic girl:
"How much do you make annually being the man in charge?"
Non-materialistic girl:
"What made you driven enough to work towards this big role as a leader in the company?"
Men who only seem to talk about business constantly have a lesser chance to keep a non-materialistic girl around. We want to get to know your heart!
Who you are is more interesting than what you do for a living.
4. Time is priceless.
This is a bit harsh, but oh so true. The money that you spend on a brand new car is practically meaningless to us compared to the time that you spent writing a "just because I love you" letter. Leaving little notes, calling when you only have a few minutes to talk, and staying in the library an extra hour just to keep us company are all little things that cost nothing but mean everything.
Time is always greater than money.
