Members of Your Friend Group as Defined by UCLA Dining Halls

Sorry, I can't, I'm hanging out with De Neve tonight.

Members of Your Friend Group as Defined by UCLA Dining Halls

When you're living on the Hill, dining halls become more than places to eat. You go there when you're happy, you definitely go there when you're sad, and you sometimes spend more time with dining halls than you do with your own roommates. Let's be real, the UCLA dining halls are better friends than some of your actual friends.

1. The stable one – De Neve

You can always count on having a good time with this friend. No matter what kind of mood you're in, De Neve will have something to offer you, and you're usually happy after a hangout with De Neve. But come nighttime, and your friend likes to get a little wild.

2. The frenemy – Bplate

We all know what this person is like. Your friend Bplate isn't necessarily a bad person, but they constantly have to tell you how healthy and cool and hipster they are. It's cool that they have their own ideas, but that doesn't make them any better than you, does it? And don't even get me started on how much everyone is constantly praising them and telling them how amazing they are. We get it Bplate, you're cool!

3. The enabler – Covel

We all have that friend that we go to when we want to indulge, and that's Covel. Covel lives religiously by the phrase “treat yo self", and every time is a time for a reward. Hey Covel, should I eat another slice of pizza? Yes! Hey Covel, should I go out tonight? Yeah! Hey Covel, does this outfit look good on me? Yeah, girl! You may regret it later, but when you're with Covel you're always feeling good.

4. The “exotic" one – Feast

The great thing about college is being able to branch away from your hometown bubble, and meet people from all around the world, and Feast is definitely one of those people. I think we all have that one friend from somewhere completely different from you, who's always talking about crazy things. Whether they're from Denmark or Kentucky, they make references that you don't understand, and offer a new perspective. They might not be for everyone, but you love Feast!

5. The rebel – Rendezvous

While Covel just encourages you to go with your primal instincts, your friend Rendezvous is the one who pushes you to go for things that you may not want to do. Whether it's lying to your parents and sneaking out to that party (oh, those high school days), going out and drinking before your midterm, or cheating on your diet (or boyfriend), Rendezvous thinks that you should do it. You're torn. You love your friend Rendezvous and think they're incredibly cool, but hanging out with them often gives you a bad feeling in your gut.

6. The one that's always there for you – Bcafe

You love your friends, but it sucks that they have their own lives, and can't always do what you want them to do. This is why you love your friend Bcafe. Whether you want to go shopping, go to the library, or just have someone else to go out to eat with so you don't look like a friendless pig, Bcafe is there and ready to hang out. They're free during the week, on weekends, and even late at night! They might not be the most interesting friend, but you can't deny that they're there for you.

7. The flawless one – Café 1919

Duh.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
