“A little bit about me: my name is Mei (yes, that Mei!), and I specialize in abnormal climate phenomena and their effects on different ecosystems around the world. I know that sounds really boring, but I’ll do my best to make is entertaining!”

Said Mei in her journal. We can simplify that she basically changes climate. In the matches as well. She can freeze herself, she can freeze you, she can freeze your teammates, she can lock the entrances and so much more. For all these matter, Mei is the most loved and the most hatred hero at the same time. What I love about Mei is that she is kind of all-in-one character. If played well, she can carry the whole team to victory easily. She can be played in all different styles. What I mean by that, yeah she is mostly a defensive hero but, she has a nice attack power where she can be used as offensive, she has skills for blocking people where she can be used even as a tank here for that matter and for last, she can heal herself up, and while that she is invulnerable, so she does not need a healer. So, if we add up all these features together, all I can say that she is a-Mei-zing!

Mei’s skills are, Endothermic Blaster, Icicle, Cryo-Freeze, Ice Wall, and the ultimate ability, Blizzard.

Endothermic Blaster is your first basic attack which happens with left click. It is a short range stream of frost which slows and freezes the enemy while causing damage as well. It damages 45 per second and after some damage, the enemy gets frozen for amount of time which is generally enough for Mei to kill whoever she freezes. It is pretty useful against heroes with low motilities such as tank and support heroes. In Mei’s blaster there are 200 ammos which gives her a really good advantage of usage in her Endothermic Blaster. Because this skill spends 20 ammos per second and this makes Mei to be able to use the skill for 10 seconds continuously also the reload time is also pretty quick with 1.5 seconds reload time and this ability makes her a giant damage dealer after all.

Icicle is your second basic attack which happens when you right click. It shoots an icicle-like projectile with usage of 25 ammos. It can deal from 22 to 75 damage at once and headshot is allowed unlike Endothermic Blaster which makes pretty good combo for her after she freezes the enemy. Meaning that if you first freeze the enemy and then aim the head, and shoot your projectile, you can easily get an elimination point. It also has a really good range of hit which allows Mei to be successful in a long range if mastered.

Cryo-Freeze is basically your everything when you play Mei. Whenever you get into trouble, that is your ticket to get away from whatever trouble you are having at that time. What happens is basically Mei takes herself into an ice block. Meanwhile, she becomes invulnerable and heals herself up to 150 health. But, she cannot move or use skill. It lasts maximum four seconds and you can cancel the usage of the skill whenever you would like to. So, whenever enemy hero uses their ultimate skill on you or basically under any hard circumstances, you just press the button and you are in your safe ice-zone.

Mei creates a huge ice wall which stops movement and blocks lots of attacks. It lasts for 4.5 seconds and each ice wall has 500health where Mei creates total five ice walls. You can basically stop the enemy team passing through small or medium sized entrances for a couple of second and let your team gain extra time to prepare themselves where most of the skills’ cooldown is no longer than ten seconds and basically you can give half of the cooldown to your team for free which is a huge thing for a game like Overwatch where even one second advantage is huge.

Blizzard is actually one of the best ultimate abilities in the game currently with the buff that is given to it. It freezes everyone in a 10-meter radius and for the ones who is new to the game, let me tell you this, 10-meter radius for this game, is huge. Seriously, if you use your skills efficiently, you can get almost everyone in the enemy team. For example, if the enemy team started pushing your team back and you do have your ultimate Blizzard ready for use, you can throw you ultimate in the enemy team members, use your ice wall to stop them running away from your skill until they are frozen and lock yourself for them to not to kill your before they are frozen, is basically means that you get the play of the game easily. So, as I said it is really really dangerous skill if it is used efficiently.

In overall, Mei is pretty strong towards tank heroes where she can be pretty annoying to them if she freezes them over and over again. Trust me on that, I play Mei a lot and tank heroes either get really angry at you and try to follow you and get killed every single time or get scared and run away from you. In both cases, you are pretty dangerous to them. To support characters as well. Because the low damage of the supports, she can freeze them and eliminate them until she gets killed. I could not say the same thing for the offensive heroes because of their high mobility and high attack power, but again, if you play her efficiently, she can beat whatever she faces with.

I hope you guys enjoyed Mei with me. Next week, I will be looking at one of the support characters, Symmetra.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
