Meet Hailey Forbis,

The world of journalism is so large, there's so much you can do in this field and I absolutely love it. My dream job though would be anything in broadcast or social media. Broadcast is my ultimate goal! Just picturing myself on the news updating the world on current events and sharing the weather is honestly a dream come true. I am so very interested in the weather and would love to be the girl updating you on the 'weekly forecast.' I just want to be on-air and be a face for others to trust and hopefully learn to love.

If broadcast journalism doesn't work out, I would love to do social media and marketing for a company. I love social media so much and have a true passion for it. I believe that a good social media platform is the way to any successful company because that is the only way to reach a large audience in today's digital world.

On top of broadcast or journalism, I would love to travel the world. The dream would be to live in a different country for a few months doing either broadcast or social media. I want to explore the world and see all it has to offer. The world is such an exciting place with so many different cultures and I would love to embrace each and every new culture.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
