So you say you're a middle child, huh?
1. You were compared twice
"Ya but your older sibling did this" followed a few years later with "Wow but your younger sibling accomplished this!" Saweeeeeeet. I'll just quietely go learn the alphabet backgrounds in my room to try and WOO you guys.
2. You got the hand-me-downs of the oldest but those hand-me-downs were too old to give to the youngest so they got new stuff
"Why would we buy you a new one when your older sibling has one in perfectly good shape you can use?"
"Of course you're getting a new one youngest, that's way too old to use again" lol BYE.
3. The youngest is the baby and the oldest is the first born. The middle is the middle. Swag.
Let's call it the buffer child. It sounds kinda cool, kinda... Self-proclaiming myself a "perfectenschlag" because I know, we as middle children are perfect.
4. You were never the last kid to go through school or the first kid to graduate. You just went got good grades and that was a high five worthy routine.
You were held to standards of the oldest, and the baby sibling wrapped up every event your parents would watch you all go through. You sat through all events like the good little buffer child that you are.
3's a crowd
You're too close in age with the oldest and too close in age with the youngest where it's easy to bicker but the youngest and the oldest are far in age. They don't have as much in common to bicker about so it was easy for them to tag team together against you if need be. Siblings: 1 Me: 0
5. Not off the hook just yet
When your parents disciplined the oldest the most you weren't quiet off the hook when it came to them easing up: that was the youngest perk not yours.
6. In order to get your way you had to get both siblings to agree or else if just one of them disagreed with your decision you were immediately overruled: over and you're out
Your vote: 1/6 probability of being voted in. Restaurant you want to go? Too bad it's the youngest turn.
7. You're basically your own ring leader. You're a lone wolf who does what lone wolf wants. You've learned to fein for yourself.
Hey, if no one else is going to listen to you, you might as well listen to yourself. Do you, middle child.
Remember though, you have two homies one you can look up to and one you can be role model for when you see what you admired in the oldest and what you can fix.
You have the opportunity to learn how to be the best sibling based on experience and being able to change that Medicare status to the one every kid wishes they were.
