Me, my twin, and I.

1. You have strong opinions about twins with rhyming names or matching outfits.

When you are a twin, whether fraternal or identical, expect everything to be the same for you... or everything the same, but in pink and blue. Some parents might even name you something like Nikki and Rikki.

2. All you want is to be treated like an individual.

On birthdays especially, it is hard to feel like you are your own person. When you are a twin your birthday has always been shared, and that is all you will ever know. Getting matching birthday presents and being talked about as a pair does not feel as good on your special day. You find yourself reminding everyone, "We're not the same person!" When the big Happy Birthday Song moment finally arrives, you HATE it. A lifetime of sharing the spotlight has not prepared you for the intensity of that song.

3.People ask questions no matter how obvious the answers may seem to you

The best is when boy-girl twins are asked if they are identical or fraternal...

4. "So, which one is the evil twin" = shut the heck up.

5. Having a "partner in crime" for every stage of your childhood is brilliant, and you feel sorry for only children.

Your entire childhood you had someone by your side. Through every single step of your journey through life, it is a little easier to get through knowing you have someone stuck beside you doing it too!

6. Nobody can top your baby pictures for cuteness, and your parents show every new person that enters the house.

Double trouble? Twice the cuteness overload for now picture! Obviously everything is a lot cuter in two different colors (blue and pink, duh!) or even outfits in the same colors.

7.People tell you about another set of twins they know, and are astounded you don’t know them too.

Because all twins know each other, right? Just like how all people who like the color purple know each other too?

8. Everyone wants to know who is older. And taller. And has better teeth. And does better in school. And is more successful.

And the soul-crushing comparisons never end. Then people wonder why we’re competitive with each other.

9. Do you enjoy being a twin?

That's a bit of an unrealistic question... This is literally like asking to evaluate my entire life experience with my sibling whom I am supposed to love unconditionally since birth. Today was pretty dire, but last week was a blast!

10.You know that somebody always has your back.

Your twin is always on your side, and you are always there for them.

11. And you cannot imagine life without your twin.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
