Because Marist is a relatively small school with limited dining options, we've learned to make the best of what we've got and everyone has their favorite spot on campus. However, if you're looking to branch out and go somewhere other than the dining hall for food next semester, here are the Marist dining options explained with "Parks and Recreation" quotes.
1. The dining hall.
The dining hall always seems to have lots of options on the menu, but when you actually look at it, most of the options are pasta. Don't get me wrong, I love pasta, and I'm sure that almost everyone else does too, but sometimes it would be nice to have a break and eat carbs in some other form (bring quesadillas back to the dining hall, please).
2. The Cabaret.
As the place where everyone goes to get their bacon, egg and cheese and breakfast sandwiches (they're available all day), the Cab is the perfect place to get your breakfast food whenever you want it, and as everyone knows, breakfast food is the best.
3. The Marketplace (a.k.a. Jazzman's).
The Marketplace is essentially the Cab for upperclassmen. With lots of grill options and a great selection of Ben and Jerry's (for about half of the week, until all the good flavors are taken), the Marketplace is the perfect place to get your junk food fix without having to wander over to the other side of campus or leave campus altogether.
4. Donnelly Cafe and Dyson Cafe.
The Donnelly and Dyson Cafes are the places you run to after you've been in class for hours and can't make it to the dining hall or back to your house for food before your next class. Even though it's not the best food on campus, any food at all is amazing after being in class for five straight hours.
5. Library brew and Hancock brew.
Whether you didn't get enough sleep last night, had to get up early for your 8 am, or didn't get to take your afternoon nap, the various Starbucks options on campus are some of the most popular places.
So, now that you know about all of the dining options available on campus, try something new when you get back to campus this fall. But for now, enjoy the break from dining hall pasta and pizza.
