Change Your Mindset, Your Mind Needs It

This is a response to I Spent The 18 Months Writing Down One Positive OR Negative Thing A Day, And It Changed My Perspective Completely.

Keeping a positive mindset is very difficult.

There are always negative thoughts of self-doubt and self-sabotage that can linger in your mind, preventing any positivity.

Getting into a routine and doing activities that can help your mindset are ways to improve positive thoughts flowing through your mind instead of negative ones.

One activity to silence negative thoughts and gain a sense of calmness, comfort, and clarity is meditating. Meditation is a practice in which a technique is used called mindfulness— focusing the mind on a positive thought to train attention and awareness, ultimately achieving a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Using soft music like instrumental, soft sounds like brown noise, or even frequency sounds can be helpful during meditation sessions. When you meditate, repeating positive affirmations as you center your breathing is a great way to align your mindset.

Going on daily walks is another activity to elevate a positive mindset. Staying inside while scrolling on your phone and watching a show on your laptop won’t improve anything. Being outside in nature with fresh air and sunlight radiates a positive mindset.

Participating in pilates is not only good for your mindset, but also great for your body. Staying physical and constantly moving your body will help improve your health which later leads to a more improved mindset.

Journaling is one of the most common ways to assist positively. Writing down affirmations and manifesting certain things creates a new way of thinking. Saying phrases like, “Everything always works in my favor” and “The universe always has my back” are ways to alter your life. Once you start drilling new ideas about life you will become more appreciative of the things around you, therefore thinking more positively.

“I’ll start tomorrow,” “Next week seems like a good time to start,” “Next month I will get my life together.” Don’t give yourself a set the date time of when you are going to start. Start today. Once you get in the habit of thinking positively and changing your lifestyle to a better way of living, it will feel like a breath of fresh air (literally.)

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
