To The Man Who I Have Been Praying For My Whole Life
Fave Thing

Growing up we were read fairy tales describing a perfect prince charming, perfect hair, dazzling white smile and an outgoing personality. He is a prince who loves his princess with all his being that he goes to extraordinary measures to be with her. However, as we grow older we quickly learn that this love cannot exist. Those fairy tales were all a lie because each of those handsome princes was missing a major quality that disabled them from showing and experiencing pure, true love. They were missing the love of God. The only fairy tale that exists is God’s love story and his love for us. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Each night before I go to bed, I pray for you. I do not know if I have met you yet or if I will meet you tomorrow or in 10 years from now, but I do know that you are somewhere on this planet. Knowing that you are out there and do not know who I am or how much I already love him, I pray for you.

Dear Future Husband, I am praying that you live your life for God. I pray that the way you are pursuing your relationships right now are glorifying God. I pray that in your current relationships that you are not settling for less than you deserve, because you deserve the world. I pray that you never doubt your ability to impact lives around you. I pray that you are a leader, and that you never are ashamed to boldly walk in your faith.

Dear Future Husband, I am praying that you stay humble. I pray when people see you they see a selfless man living for God. When people see you let them see a man of God. I pray that when hard times come you seek God even when you do not want to. I hope you know that God has a solution to every problem that you face, it may not be the easiest plan but it will always be the best.

Dear Future Husband, I pray that you love me for who I am. I pray that you pursue me in a Godly manner. When you see me I hope that you see me for who I am on it inside rather than the outside. I pray that you have the same aspirations in life that I do. I pray that you have a crazy personality and understand my unique sense of humor. I hope that you can understand my need for laughter and joy in my life. I pray that you love to sing in the car as much as I do and go to Goodwill every Dollar Thursday. I hope that you are an encouraging husband who loves and supports me through every decision. I pray that you want a family just as much as I do. When we have children I want them to see the way you love and pursue me and inspire them to want to marry someone who can love them just as much. I want them to see you as a spiritual leader, a father who is Godly and prays for them daily. I want you to be the kind of man that cries when you see me walk down the aisle because you know that our love is rare.

Dear Future husband, I pray that you praying for me, just as I am praying for you.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
