I have been with my boyfriend for almost three years, but we have been friends for over 10 years. We met when we were eight years old at Church. We started dating in 2015, nearly 10 years after we first met. here are ten reasons why I know he is the man I am going to marry:
1. Even when I am mad at him, he gets me to laugh
This is not where I state how goofy he is, even though he is. This is where I state how amazing he is even when I am mad. My face could be blood red because of how mad he made me. But one look from him and I am suddenly laughing. I can never stay mad at him for long. He just has this way with me where I could just see him and not be mad or he could say one thing and it just changes my mood. He could say something so stupid and I would die of laughter.
2. He still kisses me when my breath stinks
That sounds gross as I re-read it, but it is the truth. I have known how terrible my breath could smell and yet he does not care. He still likes to kiss me. I have pointed out that my breath stinks and he just says that he thinks it smells good. Since he can stand my terrible breath, I think he is a keeper.
3. He is good to my siblings
I have a huge family; 16 siblings to be exact. Six of those siblings are younger than me and he adores them almost as much as I do. Trust me, it can be hard at times to even sit next to them for five minutes, but he somehow can be next to them for much longer than five minutes. He plays with them, wrestles with them, and lets them go out on dates with us.
4. My mother adores him
My mom has always told me that we would end up together. She has always "shipped" us together. When I told her that we were dating she said "I told you so. You are going to marry him" and she was right. She always takes his side in our arguments and she always makes me see his point of view. She talks highly of him to everyone she meets and she loves him like he is her own son.
5. He loves rollercoasters as much as I do
One of my favorite things to do in the Summer is to go to the amusement park. I love to ride rollercoasters. I love the thrill of it all when my heart stops and I feel like I am dying. It is so exhilarating to me. I am lucky that I have found someone who loves the thrill of the rides as much as I do. He loves to go to the amusement park, maybe even more than I do.
6. He is a goofball
He has a joke for every situation. Literally, every situation. He makes corny jokes. He makes cheesy jokes. He laughs at everything, especially when he should not be laughing at all. He can always make me laugh, at any time of the day. He makes silly faces and does silly things. He changes words in songs to make them sound funny and he will sing them in the right tune to make sure it fits just right.
7. His eyes
I can hear the questions now 'how do you know you are going to marry him by his eyes?" Well, if you have ever been in love then you know you fall in love with your partner's eyes. He has deep brown eyes that are full of love and hope. When I look into his eyes, I can see my future. I can see all the things that make him so amazing. He sees things in me that I don't see. He looks at me like I am a queen and all he wants to do is make me happy. His eyes are spectacular.
8. His heart
Even if he does not believe it, he has a huge heart. His heart is full of love and hope. He is the type of person to help someone in need of help. He gives when he needs to. He loves with everything inside of him. He is a great person. He loves people and wants to do so much for them. His heart wants to give and give. I fell in love with his heart. His heart that loves with everything he has.
9. He treats me like a queen
I have been in terrible relationships and I did not know how I was supposed to be treated. At the start of our relationship, I thought he was putting on this facade of being a good boyfriend and that he would show who he really is soon enough. It has been three years and he has not changed how he treats me. He still makes sure I know how beautiful I am, how much he loves me, and how he never wants to be without me. Even when we are fighting, he still makes sure he tells me that he loves me. He makes me feel like I am on top of the world and nothing can hurt me anymore.
10. He is my best friend
He has been my best friend since I was 8 years old. He is the only constant in my life. The only friend who has never left my side, the only one who has always been there for me. This man has seen me at my lowest and at my highest and he has loved me through it all. He knew when we were children that we would end up together. He has always known. I have enjoyed watching him grow into the man that he is now and I will enjoy watching him grow even more. He has such an amazing future and I will be the woman that is holding his hands when he gets to where he is going. He is my best friend and, someday, I will be his wife.
