Due to COVID-19, stay at home orders have been issued around the globe. Taking away opportunities and memories from thousands of students around the world. Causing them to sit at home with nothing to do other than sit on their phones. Yes, students have started online classes to help them receive class credits, however what is there to do after all the homework is done?

Finding something to keep you busy can be hard to find. Especially when it feels like time is moving at five miles per hour. Here are a few ideas to keep yourself busy:

1. Facetime Friends and Family

It is important that you stay in touch with your friends and family during this hard time. A five minute call can easily turn into a five hour jam session with your best friend.

2. Naps!

Yes! Naps are the best way to relieve stress from work or school. Don't worry, no one is judging if you take three naps a day.

3. Games

Taking a break from technology can be a good thing. Spend time with your family and have a game night!

4. Take A Walk

Taking walks is a nice way to clear out your mind. Take your animals with you! They need to get out too! Just remember to practice safe social distancing.

5. Write Journals

Writing is a good way to clear your mind. You can also keep these journals in a safe space and read them in the future. It's a good way to go into a safe place and write down your thoughts.

6. Jam Session!

Please don't stop the music! It's time to get loose and have some fun! Sing your lungs out and dance til your legs give out.

7. Workout

During these rough times, anxiety can take over someones mind. Going out to exercise will help you get rid of that negative energy and life the weight from your chest.

8. Be You

The best way to get over being bored is falling back into normal habits. Go out and practice. Get better at what you are good at.

This is only a short list of things that you can do during this stay at home order, but there is no limit to your own imagination.

One of the hardest thing to do is try and stay positive. When we think of COVID-19 it's only negative. Having a negative attitude will only rub off to other people, causing this situation to get worse.

We will get through this.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
