Fat Shaming. Skinny Shaming. False Eyelashes. Hair Extensions. Contoured Faces. Tanning. Waxing. Liposuction. Implants. Botox. Thigh Gap.
When did we decide that you have to fit a certain mold to be called beautiful?
Society tells me that I have to fit into a size 0 dress and have perfect hair, skin, and nails. I have to curl my eyelashes and wear the best highlighter. I can only wear the best brands and I have to match a certain weight. I can't be too skinny or too fat. I have to spend thousands of dollars to hide my frizzy hair and acne. This is our definition of beauty.
No. Enough.
None of this is what beauty looks like. This is all fake.
An old woman with wrinkles on her face from decades of laughter with her husband are beautiful. She radiates happiness.
A mother's stretch marks from having three children are beautiful. She's a warrior and a nurturer.
Scars from that accident you had as a child are beautiful. They show that something tried to hurt you, but you won.
That rose tattoo that you got because it reminds you of your aunt is beautiful.
The frizzy hair that you try to hide under a hat is beautiful and those freckles that pop out in the summer are beautiful.
There is no one definition of beauty. You can't buy it and you can't fake it. You are beautiful because you are unique. You are beautiful because you have a heart of gold and a powerful mind.
No one else is the same as you and no one will ever be as beautiful as you.
