Some college kids will tell you that when you live at a big college, hiking on campus day in and day out can be an absolute nightmare. That's not even mentioning the possibility of walking uphill and trying to wade past the throng of sleep-deprived college students.
Not to mention the weather could be absolutely dreadful with either it being too hot, cold, windy, or rainy. When you trudge and walk the same exact path every day, it can be pretty boring daily trek. However, it does not have to be a complete and utter snoozefest. There are definite ways to make your walk to class the slightest bit more bearable and hopefully will put a pep back into your step.
1. Listen To Music
Listening to your favorite music can be such a stress reliever. If it's really early in the morning, hearing the first few beats of your absolute favorite tune can be a real pick-me-up to start the day. It's just a good way to relax and wind down. You can tap your toes to the rhythm of your favorite beat as you make your way across the campus to chemistry.
2. Call Your Friends
If you are really bored and want someone to talk to, giving your friends a quick ten to fifteen minute phone conversation is a great idea. This way, you can catch up with your buds and get to philosophy on time. Sometimes, when you are just exhausted or feeling down, it is always great to hear from a friend or family member.
3. Listen to a Podcast
Podcasts can be an excellent form of entertainment. The best part about them is that there are so many options to choose from. You could listen to anything from a comedic show to a scientific exploration. The possibilities are endless and you get to have some entertainment as you head to class. Personally, if you are looking for some fun, I suggest the podcasts The Adventure Zone and My Brother, My Brother, and Me; both are absolutely hilarious!
4. Analyze Your Surroundings
Sometimes when you are really bored and you don't have anything else to do, the best thing is to just people watch those that pass you by or enjoy the environment. If you let your mind just wander, you could come up with some great ideas or just enjoy being outside. Who knows, by looking around you might notice something about campus you hadn't seen before or see a friend.
