When you are getting your big, there is nothing better. Getting a basket, every day for a week, full of t-shirts, cups, canvases and everything in your sorority's Lilly print is amazing. However, as a big, giving things to your little and getting baskets ready does not come without its challenges. Not only do you want to make your baskets perfect, but you want them delivered in surprising ways. Even though you have already connected with your little, you have to make sure you impress her, and the only way to do that is through amazing baskets. Here are six things to put in your little's basket.
1. T-shirts. As a new girl, you want to make sure everyone knows what sorority you are in. Soon, the sorority-girl curse will come upon you and you will just want to wear big t-shirts and norts or leggings every day. It is a love-hate relationship with the curse but, ultimately, you never have to spend time picking out an outfit again. Who would complain about that?
2. Big letters. Big wooden letters are a must. They look so perfect in your dorm room or apartment. Are you even in a sorority if you don't have letters?
3. Sweatshirts or a Spirit Jersey. Getting a sweatshirt or a Spirit Jersey in your basket is like hitting the lottery. These items are pricier, but they are oh-so-comfy and versatile.
4. Hand-written notes. In each basket, take the time to write a thoughtful note to your little. It really means a lot when someone tells you specific reasons why they love you. On a bad day, a quick glance at these notes can make you feel special. Bonus points if your notes trick your little into thinking that she has a different big!
5. Food. Cupcakes, brownies, your little's favorite candy -- anything goes in this category. Who doesn't love some sweets to brighten their day?
6. Cooler. Hand paint a mini cooler for your little. This is a unique idea that is relatively cheap and fun to make.
Other things to include in baskets can be cups, wine glasses, pins, jewelry, other homemade crafts and your favorite movie. Make sure that baskets are delivered by cute guys --preferably athletes -- and, if possible, make sure that the delivery method is extravagant and even a little embarrassing for your little.
Basket week is stressful but, somehow, you get it all together just for your perfect little.
