Okay, so each and every One Direction has it’s own style. I admit that I still listen to their first album at times, which is completely different from this new album. This album has amazing songs, great sound, great lyrics and great vocals. As much crap One Direction gets about being a typical talentless boy band, this album blew me away. Here are review of three of my favorite songs from the album.
"Perfect"
If you’ve been to the Rec at UW-L lately, you’ve probably heard this one (if your headphones weren’t in). This is a fun, catchy song with good lyrics and a great tune. It’s a mix of fast and slow paced, and the lyrics are awesome and different from any other song I’ve heard from any other One Direction song I’ve heard so far.
Favorite Lyrics: “If you like when I drive with the windows down, if you like going places you can’t even pronounce”
"I Wanna Write You A Song"
I’m generally an emotional person, but this song almost brought me to tears the first time I heard it. This song is the first 1D song that has made me this emotional since "Little Things".
It is honestly one of the sweetest songs I’ve heard by One Direction, and they’ve had five different albums. This is a song that will get you thinking about a special person or time in your life. It was too hard to just choose one favorite line from the song so I chose two:
Favorite Lyrics: “Everything I need I get from you. Giving back is all I wanna do”
“I wanna build you a boat, one that’s strong as you are free. So anytime you think your heart is gonna sink, you know it won’t”
"Drag Me Down"
This is one of my favorite songs from One Direction’s new album because it gets me pumped. I can listen to this to give me motivation for homework or to lift weights at the gym! You don’t always have to listen to intense rap at the gym to get you pumped up, sometimes One Direction does the trick :)
Favorite Lyrics: “I’ve got a fire for a heart, I’m not scared of the dark...I’ve got a river for a soul, and baby you’re a boat”
Overall, One Direction’s new album is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend everyone check it out on Spotify and on Itunes Music.
