Dustin Lynch, Little Big Town, and the 2016 CMA "Entertainer Of The Year" Luke Bryan, what can get better than that? The answer is nothing. About 36,000 country fans flooded the campus of Syracuse University on Saturday, April 9th 2016, to see Luke Bryan shake his hips at the 2016 "Kill The Lights" Tour at the Carrier Dome.
When Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town, announced that "99.9 percent" of the Carrier Dome was probably at the concert just to see Luke Bryan and watch him shake his hips she was probably right, because that's the main reason why my friends and I were there. Luke Bryan sold out the entire Carrier Dome bringing in country fans from all over the US. "I want to thank you very much for making this the biggest country concert that's ever been in this building," Bryan said.
Luke Bryan had the entire Carrier Dome roaring with excitement and I know now exactly why he won "Entertainer Of The Year." Luke Bryan had the entire audience loud and on their feet dancing and singing their hearts out. Luke Bryan was shaking his hips, taking selfies with fans in the crowd and at one point during the night he pulled out a bottle of tequila and started doing shots right on stage. He had some fans so excited that they were throwing articles of their clothing onto the stage. One fan threw a bra onto the stage with the words "I Love Luke" and a phone number. He proceeded to pick it up, put it across himself, and danced around the stage with it on.
One of my favorite things about Luke Bryan is that at every concert he always takes a moment to thank those who have served our country and those who are serving now. He reminds us of the important things in life and gives thanks to those who let us live our daily lives doing what we love to do.
Slowing it down Bryan sang 'Drink A Beer" in memory of his brother and related to the crowd about how it feels to lose somebody close to you. He also had a moment of silence in memory of Merle Haggard, a country music legend, and then sang the song "Big City" in memory of his life and his country music career.
At the end Luke Bryan re-entered the stage for an encore and began to sign a crowd favorite "Country Girl Shake It For Me." The audience was shocked when Bryan transitioned the song "Country Girl Shake It For Me" into a cover of Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty To Me" which was a great surprise for some of the fans that were also into modern hip hop.
Bryan then finished the night off with the classic, 'I Don't Want This Night To End" and it was obvious that himself and the crowd sure didn't want the night to end either.
Thank you, Luke Bryan for a truly amazing concert.
