Fall is a glorious time of the year with falling leaves and the smell of cinnamon in the air. Everything is pumpkin spice flavored (or scented) and Halloween is fast approaching. This means costumes, parties, and trick or treating, of course. Some have had their costumes planned out for months. However, if you are like me, you probably have a million costume ideas but no progress made by the time the holiday is only a week away. Thinking of a spectacular costume is difficult, especially if you are in college and on a budget...Let’s face it, it’s just simply tough to think of a good idea with seemingly no time. So, this will be a fun little article about some insanely creative, last minute, Halloween costumes that don’t cost very much (or anything at all).

1. Brawny

This guy was the first one I noticed when I googled, “creative last minute halloween costumes” and it honestly made me laugh. This is an insanely brilliant idea and seems to cost next to nothing at all! Just find a plaid shirt and jeans in your (or your dad’s) closet, throw in a dollar or two for a roll of brawny and you’re set!

2. Lichtenstein Character

For those of you who don’t know (because I didn’t until google), Roy Lichtenstein was a very famous popular artist during the 1960s. Most of his artwork included parodies of pop culture art. He became a leading figure in the new art movement along with Andy Warhol and others. Seen below is a picture is a picture of a girl dressed as one of his art characters. Talk about creative! All you need is makeup, some clothes you don’t mind getting makeup on, some paper props, and a Youtube tutorial! I may actually consider this one for next year.

3.Tinder Guy

We all know that tinder is a popular phone app and just about everybody has one. However, if you’re tired of swiping left this Halloween, why not just go as tinder! I must say, this guy nailed it and it looks like he just found some things around the house to make his costume happen!

4. Yes, We Can!

This one may seem obvious, but honestly, I didn’t actually consider this when thinking of my costume. Well, there’s always next year! Ladies, why not release your inner Rosie the Riveter this year? All you need is a bandana, a blue collared shirt, and some leggings or black pants. This is such a great idea and if you have all the items in your closet already, you won’t have to pay a thing! This is probably the least expensive choices yet!

5. Paint Samples

Okay, I just have to say that this one is just plain brilliant. Who would have thought of going as Home Depot paint samples? I don’t know how this guy thought of his costume but it’s awesome. And he completely pulls it off, too!

Sheldon and Amy

Here’s an option for those of you who are going as a couple. As a devoted fan of the popular show, "The Big Bang Theory" myself, I must say that I love this idea. Just go to the thrift store with your plus one or find some things in your (or grandmother’s) closet! Now I know what I want my future plus one and I to be for Halloween one of these years — Bazinga!

7. Locker Room Regina George

Those of us who remember the early 2000s remember that quoting "Mean Girls" was everything. Honestly, dressing up as one of the characters could be as easy as finding something in your closet, but this girl took it as a step further! Remember the scene where Cady and Janice Ian try to get under Regina George’s skin by cutting holes in her shirt after gym class? This girl does, and what a great idea!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
