In the beginning, their relationship was a precious treasure awaiting discovery.
Their matching blue eyes lit up like the glorious skies,
and the angels could be heard singing a melodious tune.
Their affection for each other was so powerful,
as if destiny desired for those doves to always live in harmony.
Still, there was another voice that said,
“I forbid you two from becoming one,
for your love is not true.”
As the seasons turned, the doves’ reliance upon each other intensified.
They believed that their hearts were embraced as one.
They twittered and tweeted with their soft vocals,
even waltzed on the dance floor,
and fell into what seemed to be an everlasting trance.
The same as before,
the voice echoed,
“I forbid you two from becoming one,
for your love is not true.”
Finally came that special day when the male dove took off
to express his eternal adoration to his lover.
He soared toward her place, a ring under his wing,
and chirped jubilantly throughout his journey.
But when the dove arrived with his tux and tie,
his companion was nowhere to be found.
What remained was nothing but ashes
and relics of her beloved stashes,
and a crinkled note that read,
“I forbade you two from becoming one,
For your love was not true.”
