Love Yourself Or No One Else Will

This is for the girl who can't seem to fall in love with herself.

Love Yourself Or No One Else Will

At a very young age, my mother sat me down and told me to love myself, because if I didn’t love me, no one else would. As years passed and I became older I took her advice as “be confident.” But what is confidence? Some would say confidence is thinking you’re better than someone else, others would say it’s a trait you have.

This is what google says about confidence…

Confidence: (noun) a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities. Let’s break this down, self-assurance, so basically google says to be sure of yourself, and I agree. Google also says to appreciate your abilities and qualities, I also agree.

But I think confidence is a little deeper than the basic google definition.

This is what I say about confidence…

Confidence is when you walk into a crowded room with your head held high and a smile on your face because you’re beautiful on the inside and out, it’s when you’re proud of what you bring to the table and know it’s good enough, because you are good enough. Confidence is when you accept your flaws because they make you who you are. No one is perfect, EVERYONE has flaws.

Ladies, confidence is beautiful. People notice when you have confidence, be confident in who you are, you’re so unique. This brings me to the next part of confidence:

BE YOURSELF

Don’t be someone you’re not, be you.

Sometimes it’s hard to be confident, sometimes people put you down, but you have to get back up and remember that being confident will help you achieve happiness.

Love who you are and how God made you.

LOVE YOURSELF

Here are 3 quotes to help you throughout the day:

Number 1

Beauty has so many forms, and I think the most beautiful thing is confidence and loving yourself.” - Kiesza

This quote says what it means and means what it says.

Number 2

“You just have to be yourself and go full with confidence and be courageous.” - Gabby Douglas

Being confident and courageous goes hand and hand, you can’t have one without the other but to be these things you must be yourself.

Number 3

“Love who you are, embrace who you are. Love yourself. When you love yourself, people can kind of pick up on that: they can see confidence, they can see self-esteem, and naturally, people gravitate towards you.” - Lilly Singh

And this quote reminds me of my mother, she couldn’t have said it any better. This quote is so very true, people do love to be around others who are confident. Live by this quote.

I know this world is full of negativity and hate but you have to shine through the darkness. How you think of yourself will depict how others think of you. So be yourself and love yourself, everything else will fall into place.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
