Why I Enjoy Writing

Writing makes me happy.

Why I Enjoy Writing
Aaron Burden

I have plenty of reasons to write. Just like many others, I started writing at a youngish age. I just found a major pleasure in writing stories, articles, songs and essays. Yikes! Never thought I'd say I enjoyed writing essays.

Anyways, my biggest reason for writing is the happiness it brings me. When I write, it's just me, the paper and the pen or pencil. Writing makes me smile and helps me relax. Between writing and drawing, I can not seem to choose which helps me relax more. Sometimes I write and then draw a picture to match the story, or the other way around.

From a young age, I was always encouraged to write and draw. Just be creative. My father was a very creative man and he encouraged it greatly. My writing I kept to myself for a long time till I could find websites to post my stories or articles on. From there, many others encouraged me to keep writing and to shoot for the stars. Writing communities are so encouraging and friendly!

Writing also makes me forget any bad day I had. I come home from work some days and will just sit at my computer and write. It could be about anything at all, and it would make me feel so much better and completely forget the horrible day I could have had.

Writing is an escape for many people and others it just brings natural joy too. I highly encourage people to write or try it out as it can really help you feel better, get your thoughts or frustrations out and just help others feel better as well.

I think that is the best part of writing, is it not only helps you. It helps others and brings joy to others just as much as it does you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
