Love. That is such a strong word, yet it is said every single day. What truly is it? Well, the dictionary states it is to feel a deep romantic to someone. In this life we live in people throw that word, “love” around a lot, yet what it means to each person is different.
To me the word love can mean a variety of things, depending on the situation. For example, I love my family. Nothing in this world can break us apart. No matter where life takes me they will always be by my side, cheering me on and making sure I am doing the best I can. I also, love all my friends. They are the people I can go to when I need someone to lean on when times are tough. They are also always there beside me when I do something stupid, but do not judge me any differently than before.
But true love, what does that mean? In life everyone will more than likely have a significant other that they think they “love”. I did, and did I love him? Yes, but was I in love with him? No. Of course, I would do anything for that person, cared about them through thick and thin, but that person was not the person I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Yes, I did love him, but I was not in love. That is when I learned that there was a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone.
People ask, “how do you know you are in love?” Honestly, no one will ever know when you are, except you, but you will know when you truly are. Being in love is not always about the physical stuff, but the little things that matter most.
Being in love is getting butterflies in your stomach every time you are with that person.
Being in love is when you two are together, it seems like no one else is around you.
Being in love is smiling nonstop because that person knows exactly what to say.
It is being comfortable around each other because you know being yourselves will not break the bond you have.
Being in love is being honest with each other, when one is right or wrong.
It is being able to better each other by encouraging one another to be the best they can each day.
Being in love means forgetting about all the materialistic things
It means you are happy and never want the days to end because the days spent together are the best days.
One day you will meet someone that you are meant to be with. Someone that makes you feel like the luckiest person in the world. Nobody knows when, but trust that you will. Everyone deserves to be happy. Everyone deserves to be loved. Everyone deserves to have that fairy tale happy ending.
