Fall. It's the time for pumpkin spice everything. It's also the time for football games and the perfect weather. But, it is also time for new relationships. If you haven't noticed, fall is the time for new relationships because people are in new places around new people and the season just brings that out in all of us. So, many start to chase the temporary love this person offers.
18 years old and I have been single for all 18 of them. It's not a bad thing so don't feel sorry for me. I honestly feel bad for those that are still fixated on that person that broke their heart. I feel sorry for the person who is with someone less than what they deserve. I feel sorry for the ones that keep chasing after a relationship to feel satisfied. A lot of the reasons relationships don't work out in this world is because people don't know love.
I am a firm believer that until you know love Himself, you will not fully and truly be able to love. I realized that I was much happier being loved by The One that would never fail me. I always went back to The One that loved me first to satisfy my deep longing for a relationship. I have a sweet Savior that died for me. That is love. He had his arms outstretched on the cross calling me home to Him and to love Him. While everyone runs to a relationship that will leave them dissatisfied, I ran to my Savior. And I keep running back. He fell in love with me completely and truly. He fell in love with all of me, not part of me, but the good and the bad, and loves me continuously. He loves better than anyone can and will love you.
One day though, you will fall for someone that pushes you in your faith. If you aren't in that, walk away. One day someone will walk into your life and show you that two is better than one. They won't make you wonder if they love you or the other person they seem to continue to talk to. They will love you and only you. One day you will fall in love with someone who will push you to grow bolder. If you aren't in that, walk away. One day, you will fall in love with someone that will fail you, so love them harder. But, until then, fall in love with your Savior. The one who loves you and nothing you do determines his love for you. He loves you the same each and every day.
So, until you find your second love, continue to rest in His love, but also explore further. Grow in joy and make others realize the love that they are missing out on. In the mean time of falling in love with your Savior, also start praying for whoever you love second. Pray that they grow in God's love. Pray that they will see all that he offers that you can't give. Pray that they fall in love with him first. Continue to walk in His grace, love, and joy. God is pursuing you, so start pursuing him.
