The thing about love songs are that they're universal yet variable. Every one of you (I hope) has experienced the romantic feeling of love at least once before. If that's the case, we all know the feeling of love, but it's different from everyone, and the specific feeling even depends on the person whom you love. Here are five love songs which I think capture what's relevant to everyone who has loved.
1. "Common Sense" by Joshua Bassett
This song is Joshua's first solo single, and it is nothing less than amazing. It talks about how, in a relationship, common sense isn't always the easiest thing to listen to. on the outside of a situation, it's easier to determine how to handle things, or how others should handle things, but when you are in all of the chaos of the situation, it's hard to do what would make the most logical sense. This song is cute and simple, but also makes a very valid point of how hard it is to do the "correct thing" when in a relationship.
2. "I Will Be There" by Odessa
Odessa has such an amazing voice. She has light and airy vocals that this song meshes so well with. The song is a classic love song and just makes you feel comforted. The overall message of this song is about how no matter what happens, she will be there and at their side through it all. I just think this is a cute song filled with so much love.
3. "How Long Will I Love You" by Elle Goulding
When I think of the song I want to have my first dance to at my wedding, I think of this song. Elle's voice is just flawless, but that isn't the best part of this song. The lyrics to this song are so heartwarming. The composition of the song also just adds to the overall appeal of the song. The light instrumental mixture mixed with Elle's raspy voice and the heartfelt lyrics just makes it the perfect song to add to a wedding playlist.
4. "I Love You" by Alex & Sierra
The dynamic of this duo is just so unique and definitely contributes to their emotional ballads. The love that pours out of this song is so warming and heart wrenching. The love between those two definitely reverberates throughout this song, and in their music in general.
5. "Say It First" by Sam Smith
Sam Smith does it again. He is such a vulnerable musician and that definitely held true in these lyrics. He explains how he is waiting for the person he loves to tell him that they love him first. He has to know that the feelings are mutual before he can be completely vulnerable. This is due to past emotional trauma. The lyrics are just so honest and even more relatable.
Here were five of my favorite love songs that most definitely will be played at my wedding. And now maybe yours, too!
