Music is the greatest thing that exists; it binds and connects people not only to each other, but also to themselves. Poetry comes to life through music and spreads vibrations and electricity to those who listen. I listen to music like a lover of the arts looks at the Starry Night, and I have developed a deep appreciation for those who create and invent music. Music acts as a driving force in my life-inspiring me, instilling emotions in me, guiding me, and always being there for me.
Imagine any step-stone life event-weddings, birthdays, funerals, and so on. Music is always present, filling the empty spaces between people. Humans are incredible at music, it’s something we have done right in the world. We know how to integrate different noises and melodies into a unique tune. Most importantly, we know how to enjoy music and its offerings. The technique of playing music and dancing, laughing, and singing along is a simple science to us. We have mastered this. But, while we bathe in the beautiful sounds and sing along mindlessly, it is critical to understand where music comes from. It comes from a human who felt something or experienced something so powerful that he/she translated it into an autonomous language.
Many would say the world is filled with hate, disaster, and pain. I believe these things exist in a small corner, and can be overcome by something more powerful. Music itself represents a cultural history, a protest, an anthem, a message. These things combined can heal any wound or resolve any battle, if you have an open and willing perspective. While writing this, I listened to 10 different songs ranging from Billy Joel to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Phantogram to Drake to INXS. Each song made me feel something different. For that reason, I simply love music. It has carried me, and I will attest to anyone on any given day that music is hands down, the greatest thing that exists.
