Love And Live Simultaneously

Love And Live Simultaneously

Doug and I are still friends. I send him text messages once in a while to see how he’s doing and to find out if he’s shot anyone lately. I’m not that great at spelling and thankfully my phone autocorrects the words I type for me. What I’ve noticed, though, is that almost every time I type in the word love, it gets changed to the word live. It’s kind of a reminder to me of one of the things I learned from Doug about following Jesus. I learned that fully loving and fully living are not only synonymous but the kind of life that Jesus invited us to be part of. -Bob Goff

Lately I have been enjoying the book "Love Does" by Bob Goff. Let me start by saying if you have not read it PICK IT UP NOW. Im not much of a reader, but this book is really feeds your mind. When I read the part above in the book, it really made me think. It was like a sudden rain fall of ideas started to fill my brain. It is something so true.

Love

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud 1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is so powerful, it might just be the most powerful emotion on earth. Love is kinds and fills so good. Giving love and receiving love is one of the beast things I can think of. What does giving love feel like to you? Does it make you happy?


Live

Life is a game, play it; Life is a challenge, Meet it; Life is an opportunity, Capture it. ~ Unknown

Living is waking up every day, wether it's to the smell of coffee brewing or the sound of an obnoxious alarm ringing. Living is not taking a single moment for granted. Live is so special and you are only given one, we need to take time and bask in every moment we have on this Earth.

If we put these two words together we get something even stronger, something even more special. we we live life to the fullest and love to our fullest potential we are really doing something. Reading this book by Bob Goff is really teaching me that LOVE DOES, love lives. When was the last time you think you were fulfilling this? What can we do to implement this into our lives? I like to find ways to get up and DO. I like to find ways to live and love simultaneously. Recently I found a great way. Recently my "little sister" was preforming in her middle school talent show. I could have just sent her my best wishes through a good luck text, but I wanted to do more than that. So what did I do? I took the day off school (aka skipped class) to go and watch her. I wish you could have seen her face. My heart swelled and I was so happy I got to watch her. I want to do things like this more often.

Prayer:

Hey God it's me. I want you to help me live and love. I want you to help me to actually be there for people. It's so much more fun. Teach me to love the way you go. You are always there for me and that's how I want to be for others. Amen
