Dear Teddy and Lucy,
I want to apologize for not being home every second of every day and giving you all the love you deserve. You know, you've both given me more than love than probably anyone in the world, besides my human family. I really don't know what I would do without you guys and I just wanted to thank you for being in my life.
Thank you, Lucy, for jumping on me every time I walk in the door and barking at me as I go swimming to protect me from whatever is out there. I love your bushy tail and how you always come and rest your head on my knee if you think I'm sad. I know it's hard for you because a lot of people give Teddy so much love, but I want you to know that I love you no matter how big you are or how you scratch the windows sometimes. Please keep rolling over for me and wagging your tail every time you see me because honestly it makes my day. You are truly a woman's best friend and our family is lucky to have you.
Teddy, I want to tell you that you are honestly the cutest boy I've ever kissed, hugged and cuddled with. I get so overcome with emotion when you jump into bed with me that I can't help but just squeeze you tight. Thank you for watching Game of Thrones with me every Sunday, even though I know you don't understand what the heck is going on. Deep down, I think you really do know what I'm saying when I tell you I love you and I want to take you back to school with me. When you make your little squealing noise when I walk through the door, I can't help but laugh because it's just so adorable. I'm sorry we gave you about fifty names (Theodore, Theo, Teddy) but I think you got the hang of it. Teddy, you're the sweetest dog in the whole wide world and thank you for giving me so much love.
Yeah, it might be a little much that I'm writing a love letter to my dogs, but so? Don't you wish they could understand you and know how much you love them? I really wish they could, but since I don't speak dog (I mean I kind of do, but that's another story), then I might as well share my love for them to people who do understand. Maybe, just maybe, next time I sprint to pet a dog, you'll understand why. My dogs have truly become part of my family and I haven't met a single person who doesn't agree.
Love,
Your sister Sami
(Lucy)
(Teddy)
