There are a lot of things that come along with being the baby of your family, some great, others not so great. You have a front row seat to witness your older siblings grow up and navigate through life and those oh-so glamorous teen years. This means that you get to see any mistakes they make and how to deal with them years prior to when you actually have to think about them. That being said, you're also expected to learn from their mistakes and not make them yourself. Should you make one, your parents will whip out the old "Didn't you learn from what happened to your brother/sister when they were your age?"
You are also constantly compared to your older siblings in school, which continues for as long as you attend the same schools (in my case, pre-k through 12th). There is now a whole new level of pressure placed upon you to excel in that class because [insert sibling's name here] was such a "wonderful student." As long as your sibling was well-behaved in that class, it does give you a leg up on the other students. Speaking of school, you also have tutors available at your beck and call when you have older siblings. They've taken the same classes as you and most likely even had a few of the same teachers, so if you need help, you know just where to go.
Bullies. They exist. They're mean. They suck, but they're real. Having older siblings who are there to stick up for you when no one else is is honestly one of the biggest blessings. Blood is a heck of a lot thicker than water and no one will go to greater lengths to protect you than family.
Another huge plus is that chances are your older siblings will be popping out offspring before you. This means until you decide to have your own little rugrats, you get to experience all the fun of having a kid with your nieces and nephews without handling any of the responsibility. You also don't have to partake in the whole, you know, squeezing a human out of your body thing just yet... so that's nice.
As the last child to assume the "new, cute baby" role, technically you're still the rightful owner of that title. This will lead to a lifetime of secret grudges being held against you for stealing the crown. What can I say, it's tough being royalty. All jokes aside, though, I wouldn't trade having my two older siblings/sidekicks/bodyguards/mentors/life coaches/teammates/best friends for anything in the world. There's no better friend group than family.
Remember, at the end of the day, you're still the cutest, so it's all good.
