From the moment that your screen is lit up with Blair Waldorf's bedroom and Nate Archibald's oh-so-attractive face, you're hooked. You are about to embark on a ride of many contradicting emotions as you are the newest viewer of the Upper East Side's most elite teenagers. Their drama, scandals, and crazy family histories will unfold right before your eyes. I hope you can keep up.

You will quickly grow to love and hate each character. Sometimes you will cheer for them and feel the deep emotions that they feel and other times you will boo for them because their decisions are so rash and unreasonable that you can't bare to watch another moment. As you frantically press the off button on your remote or just slam your computer screen shut, the drama of their world will pull you back in soon enough. Essentially you just learn to love and hate the characters...and here's why:

1. Blair Waldorf

Love: She's Blair Waldorf. That sums it up, but we love her because she is Queen B. Her fashion and taste in guys in nothing short of impeccable. I mean no ordinary girl gets to marry a prince, even if it is annulled.

Hate: We hate Blair for playing so many games with Chuck. Sometimes she takes her revenge a little too far, but then again...she's Blair Waldorf.

2. Serena Van Der Woodsen

Love: Serena is beautiful. She is easy to love from the beginning. She comes back to the Upper East Side and really sets out to make things right again. Plus her outfits are always on point.

Hate: Did you really have to disappear and not say goodbye to anyone? Why must you always fight with Blair? Why do you keep so many secrets, especially from people who care about you?

3. Chuck Bass

Love: HE'S CHUCK BASS. What more can I say?

Hate: MAN UP AND TELL BLAIR YOU LOVE HER INSTEAD OF PLAYING YOUR STUPID GAMES CHUCK!

4. Nate Archibald

Love: Nate, you are a beautiful, kind, strong and caring.

Hate: Why did you have to hook up with Serena? Why did you ever kiss Jenny? You and your family come with too much baggage.

5. Dan Humphrey

Love: Dan is personally my favorite character. He is kind-hearted, witty, creative, smart and just so perfect.

Hate: How on earth are you gossip girl? How did you leave no clues that it was you?!?! Why would you post such harsh things about people you supposedly love?

6. Eric Van Der Woodsen

Love: Eric is strong and hopeful. His relationship with Jonathan is precious and by far one of my favorites. Eric stands up for what he believes in and is strong enough to make people work for his forgiveness.

Hate: I could never find anything to not like about Eric.

7. Jenny Humphrey

Love: Jenny stands up for what she thinks is right even if she has to get hurt in the process. She is very daring and loves to be her own person.

Hate: Living in the Upper East Side definitely changed Jenny. Not in a good way. Brooklyn Jenny was way better.

8. Vanessa Abrams

Love: Her style is trendy and she does her best to stay true to herself and her beliefs.

Hate: She just didn't belong with the Upper East Siders.

9. Georgina Sparks

Hate: Everything about her. She is the reason I slammed my computer screen shut several times. SEVERAL times.

10. Lily Rhodes/ Van Der Woodsen/ Bass/ Humphrey

Love: Lily is strong willed and loves her kids very much.

Hate: She is too dependent on men (hence the countless men she was with). She also thinks she can buy her way out of anything.

11. Rufus Humphrey

Love: Rufus is a cool hippie dad that is more of a friend to his kids than a father.

Hate: How forgiving and trusting Rufus is all of the time.

12. Bart Bass

Love: Money.

Hate: You faked your death and left your son because you were scared. You are a coward Bart Bass.

13. Dorota Kishlovsky

Love: Dorota is a bad-ass maid and I think every girl on this planet deserves a Dorota. There is literally nothing anyone can hate about Dorota.

Throughout the series there are plenty of other characters that come into play and have significant parts. These characters are truly the ones that carry the series. May "Gossip Girl" forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
