Why I Love My Chacos!

The "Chaco Queen" speaks!

Why I Love My Chacos!
Krisann Holthaus

At work, I am known as the Chaco Queen. You know why? Because I love my Chacos! I have already announced my love for them in the piece, “17 Helpful Answers On What Shoes Can Do For You”, but this is an in depth look into my love affair.

The biggest reason is the fit! The way the arch hugs my foot and I can customize my fit with the movable straps is amazing! I do not need to fuss over the sandals being too tight here or too loose there because the straps can adjust for me. There are times, I do admit, which I must readjust my Chacos to make sure my feet do not slide or things do not become too tight around my toe with my ZX2’s—my first pair of sandals—but it just makes me love them more because I CAN do that. I ordered—my store did not carry them unfortunately—the Kanarra shoe next. I absolutely love the color and the feel. I may have had to put new insoles in due to me guessing at my size, but I got them to work for me. Once I saw a customer had Chaco boots, I knew I had to have them too. I ordered the Lodge Waterproof in black and they do not leave my feet once I am outside of work. The arch is amazing and the fit is perfect. It was a great find for my shoe collection—had no black boots though and easily rectified with those Chaco boots.

I love how I can take the shoes and sandals anywhere and they can take the beating. Chacos can hold their own in my standards, which makes for durability and reliability. I wear them in water, trudge through mud and snow, anything. I have not had one problem which is not easily fixed with a quick wipe down. I absolutely love how durable they are against my abuse—and I will admit I am hard on my feet.

When I was first considering Chaco as a brand, I asked some of the avid lovers how long they have had theirs; their reply was years. So far, the most I have heard was 12 and still going strong. I could not believe their lifespan until I learned more about the brand. They are made to last, and the company has a spectacular support system. The sandals are made to last with its materials and soles. If there were a problem, Chaco would be there to support you as well. Their sandals especially are made to be repaired.

That leads me to my next point: the Chaco Nation. The company has nicknamed its avid lovers as a group because of how many people cannot help but rave of how great it feels on their feet. By the end of last summer, I had a tan on my feet which honestly looked like a Z. If you go to their website, you can see others with the same tan as they never want to take them off—and neither do I! I cannot wait to wear my custom-made sandals—the ZX1’s—this summer! I would highly advise trying their brand—you can get addicted too.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
