To Louis Tomlinson,

You are a man loved by many for your charming looks, pleasant personality, and all around high positivity. You are also loved by many because of your willingness to be strong, even on your worst days. Not a lot of people can be strong after just a few things you have been through, and mostly they break. You have always shined lights on others when they should have been the ones to shine a light on you.

Louis, throughout just 24 years of your life you have suffered more than people will suffer in their lifetimes. You have suffered from having a terrible father who left you when you were a baby only to return to bash you on your success in the media as an adult. Due to your father leaving, you have also had to play the father for your siblings. You have had teachers tell you that you would never go anywhere in life. You have gone through tough times with media, as they all decided to showcase you as a bad man, instead of the man that you actually are. Just recently you went through what most people hope never comes, the loss of your mother Johannah.

On Wednesday, you lost your beautiful mother to aggressive leukemia. No 24 year old wants to go through this, and if they do, they decide to take some time to mourn and be on their own. Louis, you stepped up and decided to greet fans with birthday wishes on Wednesday and continued on with your music. Today you did the impossible, you performed on the X-Factor stage in front of thousands of people and millions at home without breaking down. For that, you will always hold a special piece of my heart and forever be my role model to look up to.

A truly brave person always put others before themselves, and now I know that is what you will always do. I am honored to be your fan, because you have taught me how to be strong, how to love, and how to keep moving forward. This month, you will celebrate Christmas, your birthday, and New Year's Eve all without your loving mother by your side. It is a privilege to be able to know that you will get stronger every day despite this, and send love and peace to the world around you.
