As one of Taylor Swift's biggest fans since I was seven years old and heard "Tim McGraw" for the first time when I was getting ready for second grade, I was extremely excited for her highly anticipated sixth album, Reputation, in just over 10 years.
This album is already record-breaking and exceeded everyone's expectations, which is a nearly impossible task. Her 2018 stadium tour that's not even announced yet is set to make $300 million.
$300 MILLION and it's not even announced yet, the dates aren't released and the tickets aren't even on sale.
Taylor Swift is very aware of her (no pun intended) reputation with the media and is known to capitalize on it. She's not one to shy away from poking fun at herself and we love that about her. She knows that she needs to keep topping herself in order to stay ahead of the game and above all of her haters. And this album does that.
It's so sonically cohesive and has a beautiful message about how to be in love and be proud. It tells you to not care about what other people say and think and make yourself happy.
For me personally, it's very important to be in a good headspace when I listen to Taylor's albums for the first time.
I will forever associate 1989 with being 16 years old and listening to it in my first car with my best friend. I think about the same memory whenever I hear each individual song and I want to always have them correspond with happy thoughts.
