Although hair length may seem like a trivial thing in life to most people, it does impact a girl a whole lot. It can make the difference in someone looking years younger, or even decades older. It obviously leaves different impressions on people depending on not only the length, but also the style (layers, bangs, etc). For me, not only is my hair very long, but it’s also thick (but that could practically be its own topic), so I definitely have quite the combination and consequently have a few things about long hair that I bet a lot of people can relate to. You cannot simply take a short shower.
It's physically impossible. People can rush you all they want, but it's just not happening. More to run your fingers through, more shampoo and conditioner that needs to get out, and more knots to untangle.
Whenever you do physical activity, it whips you in the face.
Even in a ponytail, my long hair would manage to slap me in the face during all athletic events. I then transitioned to a braided ponytail, which does help reduce the whips to the face.
You unintentionally hit people in the face.
Sorry, everyone. It's not on purpose, we just can't help it.
It's a serious arm workout to brush.
Especially when there are some tough knots in there.

It dangles into your food.
This is why I find it challenging to eat with my hair down, because it always finds its way into my food at some point during the meal. Not only is it annoying for us to deal with, but I imagine seeing long hair in food doesn't exactly increase other people's appetites.
It takes forever to dry.
This forces you to plan the timing of your showers really well. You don't have the luxury of taking a quick shower before you go out somewhere, because then you will look ridiculous with a drenched head.
You hear this way too often: "Oh my gosh! Your hair is so long!"
Thank you? I mean, is that a compliment? Or just a statement, of which I was already aware. Just wondering.

People always ask when you're gonna cut it.
I don't know! OK?
It gets tangled in necklaces.
A constant battle.
It gets stuck in just about every other object too.
Chairs, zippers, seat belts, backpacks, and even your own armpit because it's just so long.
You're always doing this.
This is just one of those things you have to do if your hair is down. Especially if it's hot out--the last thing you want are those long locks making your neck sweat.
You usually get frustrated with having it down, so you throw it all into a ponytail or bun.
On some occasions your hair cooperates and you leave it down, but other times, it's best to just be up and out of your way.
Most people do love their long hair overall (myself included), but it's not easy. You definitely have the thought of "why haven't I chopped it all off yet?" very often, but you usually stay loyal to your long hair for quite a while. It is hard to make the decision and say goodbye to it. Long hair is just fun, for whatever reason. I love it! All the hardships included.
