Personal Picture

College has been a time for many changes. While it has only been a semester since I began my journey as a college student, I have noticed that many of my priorities have changed; However, my high school friends have maintained a spot right on top of my priority list, despite our distance. These girls have taught me many lessons, loved me unconditionally and created more memories for me than I can count. Here are the six best things about my best friends.

1. They know how to make me laugh like no other.

Whether that means Sydney putting on an episode of "Friends" for the 10th time, sitting on my bed watching an hour of Vine compilations or remembering that one time I went vegan for 72 hours, my friends never fail to put a smile on my face no matter how hard things can get.

2. They are always there when I need them most.

Sometimes it's a "Hey, hoping you have a good day today!" quick-text kind of day, others it's a "I'm having an emotional breakdown and need to FaceTime for 3 hours" kind of day. Either way, I always know my best friends are just a phone call or text away.

3. They are down to get ice cream every single time we hang out.

Okay, Alex, this is when your greek yogurt doesn't count! But, despite your dedication to being the biggest health geek I know, you still tag along every time I am craving a nice Ben and Jerry's. You're the best.

4. They do all the little things perfectly.

My favorite thing is getting a Twitter DM from Kass with the words "This is so you." Knowing that I am being thought of miles and miles away from my friends helps me feel so much closer to them. A text, a phone call, an organized Friendsgiving or a trip to the city never disappoints. Even a surprise visit with a DQ Blizzard just because is just as special with these girls.

5. We are the perfect mix.

While we all have our differences, they blend together perfectly. It just means five different closets to shop in, five different Spotifys to listen to, five different makeup collections to test out and five different personalities that each bring something special to the table.

6. They are the most amazing and inspiring people I have ever met.

Leave it to my best friends to have the coolest and most successful lives EVER. Between medical camp in Bolivia, studying abroad in Costa Rica, being a kickass engineer or a fashion icon, my besties have all the bases covered. Seeing them follow their dreams and become the amazing young women that they are today makes me so proud to call them my people.

I love you more than words and can't thank you guys enough for sticking by my side through the many lows, and the even more abundant highs.

XOXO,

C

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
