It's been almost a year since I embarked on my junior semester abroad in London.
There's not a day that goes by where I don't wish I was back.
London, you stole my heart. Here's why.
Where else can you find a pub on every single corner? Literally. Every. Corner. Not only that, but it’s socially acceptable to have a pint at any time of the day.
The cabbies will actually talk to you—and most of them have such unique stories to tell.
But you probably won’t need to take a cab very often—the “Tube” is so easy to navigate, it’s clean, and the employees are super helpful.
You’re constantly surrounded by some of the most important historical buildings in the world.
Who wouldn’t love a country where everyone takes a midday break to eat scones and drink tea?
Because of Pimm’s cups.
And Nando’s.
And Ben’s Cookies.
And the surplus of delicious eats at Borough Market.
Because all the streets look like this at Christmastime.
You can pay a casual visit to Buckingham Palace whenever you want.
There are underground movie theaters.
And absolutely beautiful, green parks.
You're in the same city as some of literature's greatest authors.
And you're surrounded by some of the best shopping in the world.
There are views like this.
And this.
And this.
London, I love you.
