We all have a love-hate relationship with the little farm town we call London. No matter how many times you leave, we all, at some point, end up coming back to this place we once called home. Whether you're running errands, heading to a friends house or just going to school in the morning, you're bound to see at least one of these things on the way. If you are from London, Ohio you understand and once lived this.

1. Cornfields.

Wheather you're cruising down country roads or just on your way to school, you're bound to see some corn fields no matter what direction you're looking in and if you're lucky you'll see a farmer too.

2. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza.

Cappy's, Domino's, Donatos, Little Caesars, Phat Daddy's, Pizza Hut, Ronetti's, may I go on? We obviously have an obsession here.

3. Wally World.

Oh, Walmart. The place that has everything you need, but where you will see every single one of your relatives and friends in a 10-minute visit so, dress accordingly.

4. Country Boys.

They're everywhere. The fakes, the try-hards, the real ones. We hate them, we love them and somehow can't seem to live without them.

5. The State Theatre.

Does anyone even go to this place? It was open, then closed, and now it's open again.

6. Gas stations.

Need gas? Don't worry there's a gas station on every corner. BP, Shell, Speedway, etc., you name it. This means you have no excuse for running out on your way to school.

7. Cruising London.

This trend no longer exists, but if your parents grew up in London you know every story from their teen years either started with cruising in London or ended there.

8. No New Businesses.

We don't seem to like change even if it means a chain business coming into town. For example, Grinders, Hot Heads, Kmart, Perkins, Rothwell's, Schuler's, Sonic, enough said.

9. Everybody Knows Everybody.

Even better, we're all related somehow. So, don't try to do anything stupid because it's bound to spread through the town like wildfire at some point.

10. Showing at the Fair.

Your parents did it, your siblings did it, all your friends do it, which means you do it too.

11. Los Mariachis.

Otherwise known as the restaurant of the town. If you've never eaten here before, what are you doing with your life?

Though for such a small town of only around 10,000, we sure do love to have multiples of everything and to keep nothing new. A lot of these places, habits, or traditions have been around for generations and I'm sure they are here to stay for much more to come. In the end, we all down talk the town and make jokes about it, but it truly is a great place to live and someplace I am proud to call my home.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
