Living With Girls: What to Expect

If you are like me, a college undergrad living in an apartment full of girls, you know how hard it can be at times and to get used to the things that become routine around the house. If you have not lived with a group of girls, and plan on doing so here are a few things you should know:

1. Expect to find hair all over everything.

The couch, the floor, the shower... somehow hair manages to make its way everywhere and onto everything. Sorry, but we can't help it.

2. No matter how many people you have to one bathroom, it will always manage to stay messy.

The more girls in one bathroom, the more hair and makeup products you will find spread out across the bathroom sink. You can try to keep it as clean as possible, but a messy bathroom is unavoidable.

3. Candles are a must.

Girls love candles of all different scents. There is no doubt that each roommate will have them. Find your favorites and buy a lot of them.

4. You have endless options for clothes.

This varies depending on how many girls you live with. For me, I have five other closets of clothes that are all my size. Therefore, I never have to wear my own. The more roommates, the better.

5. Someone is always home.

This can be both a positive and a negative. You will always have someone to hangout with, go out with, and get food with. However, there is rarely any time to yourself. And the house feels weird when there is no one there.

6. There will be at least one bottle of wine in the house at all times.

Whether it's for an all girls movie night or boxed wine for when everyone goes out, it will always be there. And when the wine is gone, there is something wrong.

7. The amount of trash seems endless.

This is something no one understands until you experience. The amount of trash a group of girls can go through is ridiculous. I don't know what we eat, what we drink, or what we throw away, but there is always trash that needs to be taken out.

8. Something will always go missing.

These MIA items can range from anything like a sports bra to a key to a phone or laptop charger. Sometimes things just get lost under everyone's things. Keep track of your things, but it's bound to happen.

9. One fridge is not enough.

If you are living with more than four girls, you are going to need more than one refrigerator, or at least a few extra mini fridges, We eat a lot, and some of us cook more than others. There is nothing worse than not having room for everyone's food.

10. It's not easy.

Living with a group of girls is great, but it definitely takes some work. If you're planning on moving into an apartment with a group of your friends, keep these things in mind. It's definitely worth it.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour
StableDiffusion

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
