At times life can be stressful which is why it’s important to do things that make you feel good. And most importantly happy to the fullest. It’s important for one’s personal mental health to take time to do things that interest them and break up their routine. Having routines can be helpful, also useful, but at times it is important to break apart from that and do something different that will bring you happiness. So, break away from the same old and start doing some new things for yourself. Life should be about living in the moment and enjoying it, not worrying about tomorrow. Which for most people varies extremely in hobbies, but here’s a few things that are pretty universal for happiness. Or at least should make you a little happy.
I’ve heard before that spending money on events instead of materialistic items (such as purses) can bring a person more satisfaction in life. Things such as going to concerts with friends can also be a good time to have some fun and is a good way to break a routine. If you’ve never been to a concert before, go to Ticketmaster now and find your favorite band or artist and snag some tickets now. Going to concerts is the perfect way to kick off the summer season. It also gives you a chance to look forward towards something, and take a night off of work.
There’s so any other things to do too in spare time that can be fun. Events in RI such as arts and crafts festivals, or fairs are a fun way to grab some soul food that you would normally otherwise say no to, or play games. One time at an arts and crafts fair, I personally rode a mechanical bull, didn’t last long but I’m glad I did it because it was something I’ve never done before and I had fun doing it which is what matters. Another event that you can go too that you don’t have to spend any money on, is beach movie nights. Narragansett state beach puts movies up on a projector for the public to watch on certain nights during the summertime. (I’d have to say when they played Nemo was one of the best).
If riding mechanical bulls isn’t your style, or you’d rather not go to a concert there’s still plenty of things to do. Go out and go eat at restaurant you’ve never been to, sometimes soul food is the key to happiness. You can’t deny that when you see your meal coming out at a restaurant you’re immediately happy. Or make that dessert that you pinned months ago, and enjoy it afterward damn the calories. Sometimes in life its important to let go and enjoy the moment you’re in. So let go of the old habits and start some new ones this summer that make you happy.
